Praying for our Children

Below is a post by Nancy Campbell from her Above Rubies face book page.
I so loved her prayer for her children and grandchildren that I just had to share it here.
Her prayer is everything a I desire for my children in life.
This now will become my prayer for my children.
Read and enjoy, and pray!

WHAT DO YOU PRAY FOR YOUR CHILDREN

In my little post today, AGAINST ALL ENEMY ATTACK, which you can read underneath this post, I shared a traditional prayer that we pray every day for our children. However, we don't stop there. There is so much to pray for our children, isn't there?

The following are the prayers that my husband and I like to pray for our children, grandchildren and generations to come. We pray personally by name for each of our children, their spouses and our grandchildren daily. We do not pray for every one of these requests every day, but pray for different ones each day as the Holy Spirit directs.

I have printed out the following for myself, covered with plastic. Many times I like to lay it upon my heart as I am praying for our children so God can see the longings and requests I have for the children and grandchildren as we bring their names before Him in prayer.

You may like to copy and print this out, too, so you can have as a guide in praying for your children. At certain times, you may like to look up the Scriptures and pray the Scriptures out loud before the Lord for your children. This is a very powerful way to pray for your children. Here we go...

Oh God, hear our cry for our children, grandchildren and the children who are yet to be born. We pray…

That they will have a real born again experience and come to know God personally. (John 3:3)

That they will have soft, tender hearts to hear and obey the voice of the Lord. (1 Samuel 3:10; Isaiah 57:15; 66:2)

That they will walk humbly before the Lord. (Micah 6:8; 1 Peter 5:5-6)

That they will love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. (Mark 12:50)

That they will love to read and meditate on the Word of God and will receive revelation and insight as they read. (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:9, 11, 18, 97, 105; Ephesians 1:17-18; Colossians 3:16; 1 Peter 2:2)

That they will love to pray. (2 Corinthians 7:14; Psalm 55:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:17)

That they will be committed to the gathering together of God’s people. (Hebrews 10:25)

That they will love righteousness and hate evil. (Psalm 97:10; 101:3; Amos 5:15; Romans 12:9)

That they will stand strong against the wiles of the devil and never compromise. (Ephesians 5:11; 6:13-14; 1 Peter 5:8-9)

That they will hate the spirit of this world and not give in to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. (1 John 2:15-17; Romans 12:2; James 4:4)

That they will hate lies and deception and seek after truth. (Psalm 51:6; 119:30; 163; Proverbs 12:22; 13:5; 19:9)

That they will shine as lights in this dark and deceived world. (John 17:18; Philippians 2:15)

That they will understand true justice and have discernment regarding good and evil, the holy and the profane. (Leviticus 10:10; Isaiah 59:14-15; Jeremiah 15:19; Ezekiel 22:26)

That they will seek God with all their hearts. (Psalm 27:8; 105:4; 119:2; Proverbs 28:5; Zephaniah 2:3)

That their whole spirit, soul and body will be kept pure and blameless for the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

That they will be kept from evil. (John 17:15-16)

That their faith will not fail. (Luke 22:32)

That God will pour out His Holy Spirit upon them mightily. (Isaiah 44:3-4; Acts 2:16-18)

That they will keep themselves pure and holy (body, soul and spirit) for the man/woman that God has chosen for them. (Romans 6:12-13; 1 Corinthians 6:15-20; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4)

That God will even now prepare for them godly wives and husbands who will be committed and faithful in marriage. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

That they will love and embrace children and establish godly homes. (Psalm 27 and 28: Malachi 2:15)

That God will keep them from accident, harm, sickness and danger and all enemy attack. (Psalm 91)

AGAINST ALL ENEMY ATTACK
As God blessed us with children, my husband began to pray that God would keep our children from "All accident, harm, sickness, and danger, and all enemy attack--physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally." This prayer has become entrenched in our lives and every day we pray this prayer over all our children and grandchildren. And now our children use the same prayer to pray over their children. I think it will continue down the generations. You are welcome to use this prayer to pray over your children, too.

Of course, after praying this prayer, we pray other things over our children about which we are burdened.

Love from Nancy

to be content

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned , in whatsoever state I am , therewith to be content.    Philippines 4:11

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content . 1 Timothy 6:8

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have : for he hath said , I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.     Hebrews 13:5

But godliness with contentment is great gain.    1 Timothy 6:6

To learn to be content in whatever state we are in is a very great thing indeed.

Sounds like the apostle Paul had mastered the art of contentment!

That is one of the top things I want for my kids too.

May we  learn to be content so we can experience  true happiness and joy in life -- always-- no matter what comes our way, with whatever we  may have, or don't happen to have! :)

Mae

True happiness

http://itsalmostnaptime.blogspot.com/2010/02/i-dont-want-my-children-to-be-happy.html

Above is a link to a really cool post on the blog It's Almost Nap Time.  It is an old post from 2010, but it  is very great and very worth the reading  still to this day!! :)
The title of the post is I Don't want my Children to be Happy. I know that might sound strange and throw you off.
But this mom wants her kids to learn the art of contentment, which brings true happiness and joy no matter what our circumstances are , not the short-lived kind of  happiness.  It is what every mom would want their children to have. But I can not even start to write like she did, so you will have to follow this link and visit her blog and find out for yourself!!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

True happiness comes from learning to be content in any situation.

In Him,
Mae

mommy loves hugs and kisses

Enjoying a sweet hug from my little Anna!
Nothing I love more than hugs and cuddles from my little ones!
My days may be busy with schooling, laundry, cooking, cleaning, baking, and on and on.
But no matter what I want  to always have time for just sitting, and talking, reading, cuddling, and loving on my sweet children. Sometimes we just have to drop everything, and do the most important thing instead!
This  is one of my top goals for this new year: taking more time to just sit and hug! I know my children, and I as well, will be blessed for it!
Hoping your having a good blessed year so far!!
In Him,
Mae

It is a new year and I am counting my blessings!!

As we go into this new year of 2013, I want to make sure I start it off on the right foot!

First I am thanking the Lord for keeping us safe and taking care of us way beyond what we deserved in 2012. What a blessed and wonderful year it had been!

Here is just a few of the blessings from last year......
~ our paper work went through for my husbands Canadian permanent residence in early 2012 therefore making it possible for us to live and work here in Alberta.
~ we had a good and safe return trip up here end of April.
~ we got snuggled and comfortable settled in our house here again.
~  my husband got a really good job that he likes very quickly.
~ we had a very good summer and grew lots of vegetables with my parents. ( full canning jars, bulging freezers, and full bins of potatoes, beets, and carrots in the cold room tells the story)
~ the children have all been very healthy, and growing like weeds.
~ many prayers have been answered.
~ wondeful firends nearby
~ we've had good and fun winter so far!
~ this old house is staying nice warm for us ( something that I had been a little worried about )
~ and many, many more little wonderful ways that we have been greatly blessed by our loving Father!!

Secondly I want to thank the Lord for the blessing of the first couple days of this new year! I thank Him for each new day of life that He gives us. It is so easy to take our life for granted, but God has said our life is like a vapor, " Here to day, gone tomorrow."  So each day is a gift from God! And we need to make the most of each day!

My only goal for this year is to use each day of it wisely and faithfully  to Lord.
~I want to spend more quality time with my husband and children,
~ put my self out for others more.
~ I want to spend much more time on things that edify family and my self, and alot less time on the things that don't!
~ write more letters to family and friends
~ more phone calls ( family watch out! )
~ I want to encourage, uplift, and inspire others more
~ write lots of great posts here on my blog
~ spend lot less time on fruitless things, and much more time on things that bear fruit!  :)
~ I want to read much more great books to my kids! ( I can't get enough of reading to my kids!!)
~ I want to spend more time loving, hugging, and talking, and listening to my kids.
~ I want to show my husband what an awesomely great fantastic guy I think he is!!
~ I want to to encourage him to keep strong in Lord as he keeps leading and guiding his family after the ways of the Lord! ( christian dads have a huge responsibility )

.
Lord I commit this year to you. May I use each and every day of this year that you bless me with for your glory only. Lord help me as I tend and care for these children that you have blessed us with.  Praying for your strength Lord as I face each day. Thank you Lord for all your blessings that you have poured over us.  Thank you for the gift of life!

Wishing all you of you a fantastic year! May you use each day for the glory of Lord!
In Him,
Mae
