Here it is soon to be the first day of summer for 2015!! The days are getting much longer now. Doesn't get dark till about 12 or 1 p.m., and then light again by about 3 a.m. Pretty neat!!
It has already seemed like summer for awhile though. We still have cool evenings and mornings a bit though.
Our garden is going like crazy, but unfortunately so it the weeds too! But what is a garden with out a few weeds huh!? We just got lots of much needed rain here. That is so good! Now we have to wait for it to dry up a bit and then attack those weeds! I honestly can't stand weeds!! Nothing more I like than a nice clean looking garden! :)
We have a bigger garden this year with lots of variety. We even managed to get Chinese cabbage which we started our selves by seeds in the house. So that's exciting! This year besides starting seedlings in our cold frame we built last year, we also set up fluorescent lights in the basement and I started some plants that way too under the lights. They turned out really well. I just planted out the rest of the tomatoes we started under the lights. They look great!
The children are nearly finished with school. Maybe about 3 weeks or more left. We get a bit behind when we go to Texas in the spring time.
Nathan who turns 15 in July is finishing up 9th grade. Clayton just turned 13 yesterday completed grade 6,and Samuel age 11 is finishing up with grade 4. Sarah turns 8 in July and is almost done with grade 2. Then we have Anna ,5, she did Kindergarten this year. Then our 2 youngest Benjamin 3 1/2, and Daniel one.
Lots out door fun things are occupying the childrens' time now, besides helping with the garden and other summer work projects we have lined up. Always so much to get done in the months with no snow! The summers are short and sweet here in our neck of the woods! Some of our projects are: painting the house, replacing some windows, putting up a fence for our cows.
Yep, we got cows!!! They are at someone place for now though. I am anxious to get our fence up so we can get them. So we can milk our cow!! I am so happy to finally have a milk cow!! Lots of fresh milk, cream, home-made butter!!! YAY!!!
We got our chicks ( 125 of them!) in early May. They will be our meat chickens come late summer/early fall. Yay, for our freezer!
The big weekend I had planned for most of a year was just last weekend ( June 5th-7th) An Above Rubies Ladies Retreat held here in our Northern Alberta area!! I am so glad I got to be a part of organizing and planning it! It was a very special weekend! Nancy Campbell author of the Above Rubies magazines for over 37 years was our speaker. She is so gifted in speaking and ministering to ladies. And what a great message she had for us. We had a big turn out, over 100 ladies and teens, and several babies too! Sadly we had to turn down ladies. Lord Willing we hope to have another ladies retreat in this area though, or a family camp with both Nancy and her husband Colin.
Now that I am not busy with the preparing of the retreat, I will put my energy in to other things again. I want to spend more time reading great books, reading my Bible, and memorizing Bible verses. Plus posting more great things on here for your enjoyment and encouragement!
Wishing you a very great summer! Stay strong for God! Keep Him first in your life!
In Him,
~Mae

for the love of rainy days!!
It's raining out side. And you know what? I'm lovin' it!!
Yeppers I sure am!
I know your thinking I'm crazy, cause who in their right mind loves a cool rainy day?
I may not always have been able to say this though. ( or will always be able too :) )
But I can honestly say right now, I LOVE RAINY DAYS!!!!
The reason why?
Cause summers are very very busy at our house. So when it's coming down rain out there all I have to do is worry about the 100 things in the house that needs doing, with out the 100 things out of doors hanging heavy over my head as well!!
It's the most wonderful thing ever!
I just put all my time and attention on the indoor chores and taking care of my sweet children.
And not worry a tiny bit about the weeds waiting to be hoed, nor about the peas that might need picked. Not butchering chickens . And especially don't need to bother about watering!
Yummy chocolate-chip cookies baking in the oven. Time for writing e-mails, working on a picture book I have in the works, and posting on my blog! Lay down for a leisurely nap later with a good book, and my Bible too.
It's a might harder to keep young ones occupied and happy on rainy day, but at the moment all is well that way too. They are all off on their own contently keeping busy. This must be my blessed day for sure!! :) ( I was going to say lucky, but I don't tend to use the word luck , just blessings. )
Maybe, just maybe, not every rainy day goes this smooth and sweet. But this rainy day is great one!!
Nothing like a good ole' happy rainy day!
Hoping your having a lovely one too!
In Him,
Mae

God's promises
I promised a post on God's Promises couple months now.
And it still hasn't happened. This post is to apologize and explain why.
I took notes and looked up verses in my Concordance, and had this post all done on paper. Getting the time to write it here on my blog was another story though. My time was filled with new bay, schooling, and packing. So i decided to wait and write it after arriving back here.
Well wouldn't you know it, we were down the road a day or two, when I realized my big, long notes were back at our house in Canada. So I phoned my mom and told her. She said she could go by my house and pick it up and mail it to me.
Well weeks were going by and I began to wonder if it was lost in the mail or something. So the other day when i was talking to her I mentioned it . As it turns out she forgot and left it in her house in Alberta, and now she is in B.C for the winter!!
So no notes, which means no post on God's Promises.
I am so sorry i have not kept my promise on this yet.
Aren't you glad we serve a GOD that always keeps HIS promises!!!
God has made many promises to those who love and obey Him, and we can rest assured He will keep every last one of them!!
How awesome is that!!
All we have to do is love and obey Him, and embrace and claim them as ours!!
Satan want's to plant in our heads that God can't keep his promises, but that's a lie.
I still have very good intentions of looking up all those verses again and writing this post. I just can't say when i will get it done though.
Well until next time,
In Him,
Mae

home is where the heart is
Here is another one my face book like posts. I like them because they are easy to write, and should be easy to read as well.
Mae:
~ is thankful to God for a good and safe trip back to our home in Texas.
~had fun visiting Yellow Stone National Park, as well as Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments on our way back down from Canada.
~ was glad that we had the opportunity to go by those places for the kids. They really enjoyed that , and we got lots of pictures.
~ thought is was neat to return to Yellow Stone with our 6 kids: one of the places my hubby and I went on our honeymoon trip over 12 years ago!! ( we didn't get a speeding warning this tme ! :)
~ is missing her home in Alberta already!! And missing my friends to be sure!!
~ is thinking of some great things to share here on my blog. ( hopefully soon )
~ is trying to get back in a good routine again with school and everything else.
~ wishes she had high speed Internet to post pictures here. ( just may have to use my brother's high speed )
~ is so very thankful for a blessed summer in Alberta, and hoping for another one this coming year!!
~ will always refer to our place here in Texas as , "one of our homes" ( you can take the girl out of Canada, but you can't take the Canada out of the girl!)
~ is looking toward our future home in Heaven. We have to remember where our "home" really is. Were only passing through here. Our " home" is Above.
Well until next time,

Mae

Back with wind!!
Hi all!!
I am back with some more wind!!
I did not take notes on paper though like i had planed, it's just all in my head.
But i think it it will all come together when i go to post.
My cough still hasn't gone away. But at least I got some antibiotics this morning from wonderful mid-wife at my monthly check-up. So i will be glad for that to do the trick and knock my cough out for good!! My baby check-up went fine. I am at 18 1/2 weeks along now. Every thing is going good, and was wonderful to hear the baby heart beat again!!
With the all the bad news on the earth quake in Japan i have just been thinking about how so very blessed we are here! Or good and spoiled may be more like! We need to be so ever grateful for our things, food , and water. I know it is easy to take all that for granted, but in a blink of an eye, like in a earth quake, that all can be wiped out.
The people there have been in my thoughts and prayers.
Well look for super duper coming posts!!
In Him,
Mae

Out of wind
I know this may sound funny on my part, but I am just posting to say, "I think I am out of wind for now!!"
I have had so much on my mind lately, lots of wonderful thoughts and such I would love to share, but at the moment do not know how to write it all down.
I feel like i need time to refocus and recompose!
Maybe a little break is all i need.
In the mean time i can write my wonderful thoughts as they come to mind on note paper so i don't forget them.
I have had a cold this past week that has lasted so long, and really had me feeling miserable for a few days. So i know i can of took a break already then. I feel better now, but i still have a cough, that just won't let go.
Our weather has been wonderful here lately with cool mornings and pleasant after noons. Although it has been going up and down quite a bit in temp wise. I feel that's what can give us the colds.
We have planted potatoes, beets, and carrots now.
Anyway other wise all is going great in Mae's house.
I am going to take a little break, and gather my thoughts and be back with some supper duper posts!!
So keep on the watch!
And hope all is going great at your house!
In Him,
Mae

Where do dreams come from?
If any one can answer this question for me I would so grateful for it.
It often annoys me when I have a bad ,or just plum crazy dream at night.
And I am like where and how could I possible think about just things at night while I sleep?
How does these things get in to our heads?
But what really upsets me is when my kids have bad and scary dreams that wake them up at night crying or scared.
Then i have to clam them down and pray with them.
For me when i have a bad dream i can wake my self up or just start praying in the dream, but my kids do not know how to do that.
Just recently my 5 year old had been bothered with bad dreams, so when i put him to bed i would pray that he would not have bad dreams. So far he has not been bothered since.
So i am glad that we do seem to have power over them that way, but i am still wondering how we get them in the first place.
It seems to me satan must have some what control of our minds at night, and mess with our thoughts. But of course not any more control than what God gives him, and nothing at all that harms us.
Of course often times with children they can be effected by bad dreams because of things they watch on t.v or movies. That is sad when that happens.
In that way it is something that we bring upon our selves though. If we watch bad, and violent things, we pay the consequences for it.
That is one reason why I am so dead set against anything bad, scary, and violent; rather in movies or computer games.
Anyway just my thoughts and ramblings on dreams.
If you have any thoughts you would like to share on dreams, then please do!
And if you can answer my question about where dreams come from, then that's even better!
I love hearing from my readers!!

snow in Texas again and gardening
Yep, we got snow here again.
We woke on the 4th to a beautiful blanket of snow on the ground, and it was still snowing.
In all we got about 5 inches.
The kids had so much fun.
Their Daddy even constructed a makeshift sled to pull them on with the 3-wheeler. Boy they thought that was the greatest!!
Yesterday it started to warm up and started melting the snow. Now it's all gone except for a little in the shady areas. It didn't last long, but the kids had a good time any way.
I know i so need to post pictures. I will put it on my to do list for this week or weekend.
So how is gardening going here with our last cold snap and snow?
Well i think i may have been a little to quick to say it was time to plant here.
Yes we did plant some things, and yes we always do at this time of year.
Except this year seems to be different.
I just walked over to the garden to see how the things fared through the snow.
The onions look ok, little droopy, but should pull through fine.
The little broccoli, and cabbage plants though look like they were froze!
The greens we had in from fall time also looks like they may have been froze this time.
Though the collard greens may pull through.
We will have to replant the broccoli and cabbage plants.
Looks like this year planting may have to be a little later.
Seems like every year can be different that way.
I know last Feb. we had snow on the 12th, so we had to wait for that to melt and our garden to dry a little before planting the potatoes which usually is done on Feb. 14th.
So that's how our gardening looks for now. Got to take one day at a time. Never know what one day from the next will be like here in Texas!!

Where else in January can you?
Where else can you in January play in snow with temperatures in the 20sF.
Then in the same month plant in your garden.
Play at the park.
Enjoy 75F temperatures and sunny days.
And your children wear summer clothing.
Have pick-nicks.
Even have your kids complain of being too hot!
Today with the temp over 75F and it feeling like summer time, it makes me think of these things.
Not many places that i know of that you can enjoy all of this in one month.
I understand it's to get cold again, and maybe even snow in this coming week.
Where in the world is the weather so diverse?
It's pretty neat I think!
But don't get me wrong, i am not a Texas lover at all!!
There's a lot of places i would rather be, but yet what can I say of enjoying all these many things all in the Month of Jan. and staying right in one place to do it!
Hoping your day was wonderful where ever you are, though you most likly did not have over 75F temp!! :)

winter so far at our house
Winter is mild here . Though for Texas it is consider cold! Yesterday morning it was 24F when I woke and our water was frozen, because neither of us remembered to leave the water running little bit all night. So that was inconvenient. We did not have water til nearly noon. No flushing toilets, not washing dishes, or doing laundry. Though we do have gallon jugs of water saved for times like that for drinking, and cooking, and washing hands. Now this morning though it only got down to 44F. ( and we remembered to leave the water running last night!)
Every body has got the flue bug this last week, except for me!! Luck, lucky me! I must be healthy! I am already queasy enough feeling from the pregnancy that i sure don't need to get the flue!!
Schooling is going great!! Looking like we will get finished up in March! SOOO Excited about that!
My Dad and Mom have arrived here from Canada this past Friday where they will spend the winter. They have been coming here to Texas for the last several winters. The kids and I always look forward to it. The kids spend time with them every day, which gives me a quiet house for awhile! And i have a baby sister when ever i need it! ( they stay in a little trailer here on the property) Mom and I have such great walks and talks through out the winter. I love it!!
We got to see snow this past weekend!!
We took a trip to see friends in Tennessee. And while we were there it snowed! Just a dusting, but still snow is snow!!! So the kids loved that. It doesn't snow here every winter. But last winter it snowed 7 in. in Feb. That was are first and last snow fall of the winter. The kids sure had a blast in that and i took lost of pictures.
I am very excited about the newest blessing on the way, but i am kind of in shock of being expecting again so soon. And thinking of how close together this one and my other baby will be.
Anna is almost 11 months now, and will be 18 months when this one is due. That's the closest mine as ever been. But i am as excited as ever!! God know best!
Well winter so far here at our place is going just great!
Hoping your winter where ever you are is going just as good also!

It's that time of year
All my little ones have had colds this past week, and still have the colds. So we are having fun with coughing, runny noeses and such. Late nights, and waking up in the middle of the nights!
Be glad when its ran its course and all is as it should be again.
At least we have decided to take the week off school, mostly anyway.
We still do our morning devotions and Bible verse memory. And Nathan is doing science, because he was a little behind in that subject. And Clayton is doing spelling and penmanship. I should work with Sam's flash cards too.
Its funny how is is almost easier to keep up a routine than not. Of course the week as only begun, and its going good so far. But if later in the week my house is going crazy with lack of routine, then back to the books we will go!!
On Thursday we are going to my husbands' brothers place for Thanksgiving. That should help to make the week little more fun for the kids. Little more hectic for me though!
I am expecting a bother in this week from Canada, actually have been for a day or so already. So the kids are on their toes anxiously waiting for him to drive in. They call him their favorite uncle. ( sorry all you other wonderful uncles :)
It had been cool for a about a week, and we had our wood heater going. Although in the day it would warm up almost to much for the wood heater and we were opening windows and doors!! But in the night and mornings the fire felt nice.
Anyway now it has warmed way up. It is 70F now! It feels like summer, or least how summer should feel i think!
So many leaves falling off the trees. I like how it looks in the woods this time of year! And the kids love making trails through the woods by raking paths through the leaves. They have made all kinds of trails.
Looks so pretty sitting here looking out my window at the fall colors. And i love that nice breeze blowing in my window. Oh,how i love this time of year.
Have a great day ya'll!
In Him, Mae
( sorry all you other wonderful uncles :)

that's what i love
Sometimes when i sit to post i don't just have a set subject or topic to post on.
There will be thoughts swirling around in my head and i want to share. Knowing God put them there. But I will be unsure of how to to best write it it all down.
So i get on my posting site anyway and i begin to type.
And the words the will just flow. And it seems as if it was already previously written and that i am simply copying it.
That happened to me with yesterday's post. I could not believe how it all came to gather so easily.
And i know where it comes from. So i give God all the credit!!
That's what i like about blogging, and that's what I love about my Heavenly Farther!!!
He gives you the words to speak when you don't know what to say, and just when you need them. And he gives you the exact words that some one is needing to hear at that exact moment!
If you have ever read something on here that seemed to speak directly to you, like it was written with you in mind. Well it was! But know it didn't come from me. There's no way i could have known what you needed to hear at which moment.
Our Heavenly Father is the one that orchestrated that!!
I just wrtie what He sets on my heart.
That's what I love about my Heavenly Farther!!

fall happenings , Bible verse memory and recent thoughts
Well its been a few days since a post. I apologize, but busy with mommy life!
I know all you moms understand though!
Fall
I am very thankful for the cooler weather. Though at the moment i am rather hot here in my house because this morning was cold, so had our wood heater going. Now its very pleasant outside ( actually very warm), and the heater is still putting off heat. Ugh!! But when i get off here i will get out side for awhile where its lovely! Its 78F.
Fall time is my most favorite season. I love the colors, the cool breezes, wearing sweaters ,( although that is very seldom we have to here) being out in the crisp cold air!
Pictures
I had good intentions of putting on pictures of our fall drive we took up in Oklahoma a few weeks back. Pretty in that area we went with the fall colors. I had trouble though up loading the picture's. So that will have to wait till a later date.
School is going well.
Nathan in grade 5 is working along much quicker than when we first begun and now school does not go all day long! In fact he was done by lunch time today! His handwriting has also improved! He has been my sloppy one, and Clayton my neat and careful one.
Clayton in grade 2 always got done early just because his school does not take as long. But a change for him is that his reading had greatly improved since we begun the year! Yea!! His reading is faster and much smoother. He reads almost all his instructions now. So that means less hands on from mom!!
Sam age 5 is enjoying learning to read from, 100 Easy Lessons To Teach Your Child to Read. We are taking nice and easy, and its going good. He loves reading his words and printing his letters.
Sarah lat 3 loves to copy Sam while he does his sounds and reads words. I think she may be an early learner!
Bible verse memory
I am excited about what we are doing now. We are learning whole passages at one time ( 4-6 verses). And we do them altogether, instead of Nathan learning his, Clayton his own and so on.
So on Sunday ( that's our fist school day of the week), I introduce the passage we are to learn for that week during our morning devotions. I will read it through once and then we read it all together 2 times more. Then through out the day a few more times, and again before bed time.
This is done every day till Sabbath morning. Then on Sabbath the children are to recite it to us by memory.
Since we have started doing it this way, the passages we have learned are Psalms 23, Matthew 6 : 9-13, and this weeks- John 3: 15- 18.
Nathan recited Psalms 23, and Math. 6:9-13 perfectly.
Clayton missed 1 verse on Psalms 23. I am also repeating Matt. 6: 9-13 for him this week because he did not do well.
So Nathan is on his own this week with John 3: 15-18. I want to keep at us all doing the same verses together but I wanted Clayton do learn the previous one better before moving on.
Sam and Sarah are learning snippets of those verses. They love repeating the verses together with us.
I reward little prizes for memorization. It keeps them spurred on!!
Thoughts
Some of my recent thoughts.
Our time on earth is short, we need to make the most of it! I believe the time of His return is near. We need to more than ever be impounding and instructing our children in the Word of God. Get them prepared to with-stand the many winds of doctrine out there. Give them the truth and nothing but the truth.
It's time more than ever to weed out the unimportant things in life, and give more time to the important!
There's so many little things in the world and in our lives specially in our lives as mommas, that our pulling and demanding our time.
We need to get rid of those things that pull us away from the house constantly. And get rid of those things that keeps so darn busy that we hardly have time to cook and have a family dinner every evening. The things that pull us away from daily Bible reading and devotions .
Get rid of the things that do not edify or build us up spiritually.
Look into what God wants us as moms to teach our children, not what the world says we should.
And don't forget the weekly Sabbath rest! God knew we needed it, that's why He gave it to us. I sooo look forward to it each week.
May you have a blessed day, as you enjoy your fall weather where ever you are!!
And remember i love your comments and your thoughts!

what my kids do in thier spare time
When schooling is done for the day and their chores are done for the day then comes spare time.
The kids have way more spare time than I of course.
I do wish that they had a bit more balance with the spare time and the chores. Right now its way more spare time than responsibilities. But as they get older then they can take on more responsibilities that is so important in their growth.
They get done with school at different times through out the day.
After school chores include,
Then its clean up time, and stories and Bible reading. Then tuck in bed and prayers.
Firday eveings we use to have as movie night, but i have been trying very hard to make it game night instead. And last Firday we did play games. I am hoping to push movie night to once a month or even more seldom than that if i can. I am not big on movies as you can see, even if they are good ones.
The kids have liked playing games on our commputer but i am trying very hard to cut that down big time as well. Its just snippets a day now! Yea!! I feel like they have better things to do than sit in front of the commputer playing a game. It wasn't bad games , but still. And I always remind my kids that I did not have all that when i was grwoing up. We had no T.V, no other way to watch movies, and no commputer. And we had a TON OF FUN!!!

what i do in my spare time
I don't even know if you could say that I actually have any spare time. But occasionally through out the day or evening I grab snippets of time and call it my spare time.
Moments when schooling is under way with out me or is done for the day, and not too many dirty dishes are piled in the sink, or too many loads of clothes are waiting thier turn to be washed!!!
In that time things i like to do is,
Then i like to,
I like to go to bed shortly after as well except some time the girls go down much later. I am going to try to get them at an earlier bed time as well so that i can get to bed at least by 9:30.
Then i can gt up nice and early and get at it once again!!!
I have been asked how I find time to keep up my blog, well to tell you the truth I really don't have time, I just do it any way!! I feel its one of the importians thing and i just take the time. But i don't do face book, and no T.V. So that all helps.

Reversing diabetes ( about my Dad)
About a month ago I believe it was, I wrote a post about an up-coming post I was going to write about my Dads experience on reversing diabetes.
Well here is that post!!
The problem is that last night when I spoke to my mom getting the last minute details, she told me she felt it it was a bit premature to share his experience since he hasn't reversed his diabetes yet. He is still in the process. In fact it has kind of come to a stand still with him. And it looks like for him it will be in a long process.
But I will still share abit of back ground on him, where he is at with this, and tell others about the diet plan.
My Dad has had diabetes for many, many years and has been taking insulin to keep it under control. Over those years his health has gone up and down. Some days he would feel great with lots of energy and then other days he would feel very rough. He as also been over wight. All of that combined effected the way he felt.
But even so he would not watch what he ate. He would he sweets, starch, anything. Tryed to keep it in moderation though. But he said he would rather die than not get to eat and enjoy the foods he loved! So that's the way it went for years and years. And over those years he had to keep increasing his insulin intake. And he was having way more bad days than good days.
Finally the last couple years has been his worst. Never feeling very good, and low in energy. He was finally getting desperate and ready for a change, yes even a diet change!
We had heard about how healthy a raw or almost raw diet was for diabetes. He certainly had not been interested in raw at all. But Mom started putting raw vegetables in their daily diet as much as possible, in the form of salads or just vegy sticks.
Then this spring I was sent this news letter thing by e-mail that talked about reversing diabetes. There was a link on that to the web site www.deathtodiabetes.com . I checked it out and seen there was a book called Death to Diabetes, written by a man that had reversed his diabetes by controlling his diet.
In the book he shares his experience , what kind of diet he went on, and the end results. And encourages others that they can do this too!! I believe he had his completely reversed in 4 months.
So i bought that book and sent it up to my Mom. They started reading it and started changing my Dad's diet. The first thing the book instructed was to start with changing breakfast. He said that was the most importian meal of the day, and that made the most effect. The main focus was to be on breakfast and then slowly change with the other meals as well.
Do they did. Dad started eating broccoli and brussell sprouts for breakfast!! He also would have eggs and fruit, but no starch. ( no toast, no fryed potatoes)
Right away he started noticing a difference. He soon felt better and had more energy. With in a week we was able to to started reducing his intake of insulin. Before that he was taking 50ccs morning and evening of insulin. Right now i think he take 25ccs of insulin.
But right it seems he has come to a stand still on his progress. For some reason his sugar levels are staying the same. He is not able to go down anymore on the insulin. He has gotten a little discouraged because of it.
But he still feels good on the most part and still is strict on the diet. In fact my mom told me they have no starch at all for any of the meals now. But that he can have brown rice. That should be very good.
I do hope he continues to stick to the diet though he is not having any more changes. It is suppose to work at completely reversing diabetes. For anyone that has diabetes or knows anyone that has it, i would highly recommend they check it out for them selves. It is so worth it.
You may try finding that book ( Death to Diabetes) on e-bay as well.
Have a blessed day, Mae

back at it
Sunday is our first day of school for the week. So we are back at it!!
Our yard sale is all over. We had it Wed. - Fri. of last week. Didn't sell near all i had hoped, but got rid of a few things. Now the rest i guess i should box up and donate to a thrift store. I certainly do not want it coming back in my house!
I had felt so good boxing up all these things and putting them in my yard sale. I felt so good that i was finally down sizing and decluttering. I felt so good that it was going to leave my home and enter someone else's, except it didn't go anywhere!! Well at least all the stuff is out side and not in my house!
The last few days have been so nice and cool in the mornings. I really enjoyed tending my yard sale those 3 days because of it. I would hurry and get breakfast, grab a cup a coffee, and go out side at 7:30 and enjoy sitting and relaxing in the cool air. I loved that part of it.
Well now that our sale is over i can get back to our normal routine again. And so now I will be coming with some wonderful posts again.
Yep, i am back at it.

a Texas morning at my house
Its such a beautiful day here in my neck of the woods in Texas!!
It was 53F with 93% humidity this morning when I woke! Felt so nice and chilly!!
This was our coldest morning here yet. Now this afternoon it is 74F. Love it!! Such a relieve from our long hot summer. But i know we will have very warm weather yet. We have such a late fall here. It rained here pretty good over Firday night and Sabbath morning. We needed the rain!
We've had some collard greens come up on their own from some plants that had gone to seed this summer. So we are digging them up and transplanting them. So we will have some collard greens to eat later this fall and into winter. Plus we want to plan some turnip seeds yet this week. But other than that we are not planting a fall garden. I am always so happy when the summer garden is over and want a break from garden work! Plus of course busy with the kids school.
I have things to write and share, but have been busy getting things ready for a yard sale. So i have not had much time to take notes and make a lengthy post. So after this coming weekend I should be back and at it again. I have had a lot on my mind.
So glad to be decluttering. I keep walking around the house looking in cupboards and corners looking to see what i can get rid of!!! The kids helped me sort through toys on Friday and found several we were all glad to part with. I want to live with less. Then i will have less to take care of and should make house cleaning easier.
Still been keeping up on our morning routine of getting kids up by 7:30 and reading at the breakfast table. I am very excited about this.
I have just bought a devotional book a couple weeks ago that we have started to use. It seems very good. Its called Daily Light On The Daily Path. It is for one year of devotions. It has morning and evening readings, and is composed of Scriptures on arranged in subjects. This book is complied by the Samuel Bagster Family. I ordered mine through Above Rubies. Their web site is www.aboverubies.org I may share about it more in a future post.
Well until next time,

coming soon
Just wanted to give a heads up about 2 posts that I promise to come soon. I am very excited about them and i hope you will be as well.
They are,
Reversing Diabetes- my Dad's experience . My dad has been a diabetic for many many years, and has been on insulin with his intake of insulin rising just to keep his sugar levels stable. He had never wanted to give up any foods that he loved including sweets, so he would just take his insulin and then eat what he wanted. Finally he decided he was going to have to make a diet change. So i will share his story and how he is doing so far on the new diet plan.
In the mean time you can visit http://www.deathtodiabetes.com/ to learn more of this diet and how it truly is suppose to reverse diabetes.
My Mom's personal story of giving up Christmas- My mom grew up in a home that celebrated Christmas. She loved and enjoyed it though it did not not hold alot of meaning for her because she was not a Christian at the time. But then when she did come to know the Lord as a young woman, it took on a whole knew meaning for her. She felt she was doing something truely wonderful for her Lord by celebrating His birth. Then she met my Dad! My dad believed Christmas was pagan and not something Christians should be celebrating. I will share her complete story on how it was for her to give it up, and her thoughts on it now.
* i am waiting for my mom to send me all the little details on these 2 topics so that is why i can not just post it right now. But please do keep an out look for them.

just Anna and I
Good Morning from my home Texas!
When i woke up this morning at 5: 30 to help hubby get the kids up, fed, and ready to head out the door with him, it was nice and cool at 59F!! They all complained it was cold and putting on layers! I thought it felt sooo wonderful!!
Anyway so got everyone ready and out the door headed on thier way to the beach!! I know, I know, off to the beach with out mom, thats pretty bad huh? But its really what i wanted to do.
I am planing to have me a good ole moms retreat right here at the house, in my very own cozy and comfortable place!! Can't get anymore better than that i figure!!
Me and sweet Anna we will just rest and be lazy all day! Send e-mails, phone family, visit all my favorite blogs, read my favroite magazine (Above Rubies), go for a walk and enjoy the coolness!!
Play with Anna, enjoy her cooing and her sweet smiles!!
No cooking, no cleaning, no dishes, no laundry, its my rest day!!
Tomorrow we will go out shopping, print off some pictuers, take our time. There will be no one to beg for anything, no one dragging behind!
OOh but i miss them already, and they have only been gone 2 hours!!
