hello spring, goodbye winter ( a poem )

   Here is a fun poem I recently composed in tribute to the arrival of spring!! Right now it is really sunny and warm out; an absolutely beautiful spring day! Gotta' love it!

  Hello Spring, Goodbye Winter!

Winter is going away for another year,
And spring is rushing in to take it's place.

Out with the cold winds and the snow,
In with pleasant breezes and spring showers!

Goodbye snow boots and big winter coats,
Hello to rubber boots and light spring jackets.

Away with the ice and snow,
Here comes the water puddles and mud!

No more snowy boots making water messes,
It's now mud being carried in that covers my floor.

No more skiing and sledding,
snowmen or snow ball fights,
Now it's bike riding and long walks,
mud pies and pretty sights.

It's goodbye to waking up in the dark,
and eating supper by artificial light.
Hello to sun shining in my bedroom window way to early in the morn.,
and going to bed well before darkness settles in around us.

Take off the plastic that covers the windows,
No need to keep everything closed up and sealed tight,
time to let in the fresh air, the warmth and sun,
and the pleasant sounds of  chirping birds.

We are oh so happy that spring is finally,
though we'll certainly miss all the fun of winter.
But we know that this far North summers are short and sweet,
and winter will come again soon enough.

Yes, goodbye winter, I am more than ready for spring and summer!

Hope you enjoyed my silly poem of spring. Though most of the things I wrote about are already gone for the year, like mud-puddels made from melting snow, and mud from rubber boots being tracked in the house. That part of spring is already gone and done. Of course unless we get alot of rain.

 Our 125 little chicks are here and doing very well. The children love helping to feed and care for them.
  We have been planting already, at least the early things ( the vegetables that won't be harmed by frost ).
Still waiting on our strawberry plants to arrive though.
  Hoping your spring and everything that goes with it is going well for you.

 Until next time,
In Him,
Mae

In HIS Perfect PLAN

 The Master Builder

GOD is THE MASTER BUILDER,
HIS PLANS are perfect and true,
And when HE sends you sorrow
It's a part of HIS PLAN for you.....
For all things work together
To complete THE MASTER PLAN
And GOD up in HIS HEAVEN
Can see what's best for man.
~ Helen Steiner Rice

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God........
           Romans 8: 28

Enfolded in His Love

The LOVE of GOD surrounds us
Like the air we breathe around us__
As near as a heartbeat,
  as close as a prayer,
And whenever we need HIM
   He'll always be there!

~Helen Steiner Rice

I just came across these two very beautiful poems. And so true they are!
  God will only give us what is best for us. Even if at times it  may be sorrow.  It is still all  apart of his perfect plan, even when we can not see or understand why. We just have to belive He knows best, and trust completly in Him.

In Him,
Mae

My Wish ( a repost )

As I gaze in to the eyes of my 4 month old baby girl, my heart over flows with love, wonderment, amazement. And I think oh can't she stay this way! I wish she would always be this sweet and perfect! This small, soft, and cuddly!! With those most adorable bluish eyes!

I wish she could always be this easily contented by me, that I could just hold her or nurse her and everything would be alright. I wish she would know no hurt, no disappointments, no sorrow, or sadness. Oh I wish she would always be this sweet, this precious , this pure!!
I wish she would always be my itty-bitty baby girl!!! She just oh so right the way she is, why does she have to grow!
But I know that is just wistful thinking and not an ounce practical ( but boy does it sound nice).
So instead I wish that my baby Anna will grow. I wish as she grows in body that she will also grow spiritually. As she grows strong and healthy in body and mind, I pray she will grow strong and healthy in the Lord.
I wish her beauty comes from her walk in the Lord. I pray she is so full of God's riches , and beauty ,and love: that she will literally shine and glow with beauty for HIM. I wish and pray that she will always remain this sweet, precious and pure!!
I pray that when she is hurt or wronged that she will know how to respond back with love and forgiveness. And when sorrows, disappointments, and sadness comes her way, that she will find her strength in God to keep going, and that He will fill her up with JOY.
I pray she will shine with love and joy! When others see her , they see God living in her. I pray that her only desire in life will be to live for HIS Glory only! And that she will grow in to a  strong woman for God. I pray she will have a love for truth.
I pray that I will be every bit the mom she needs me to be, to be that good godly example for her to follow. But I wish that she goes way beyond what I do or what I know! I wish that she will search the Scriptures for her own for the truth and not just take what we say. That she will keep growing and growing in the Lord and will keep getting closer and closer to HIM. That her faith will be strong and unwavering.
So sweet baby Anna I love you just the way you are , but I know there is so much more for you, and that God's plan for you goes way beyond baby hood.
So keep on growing baby of mine!!
That is my greatest and deepest wish!! ( this goes for all your siblings too of course)

Love, mom

Above was a post from 2010 when our second little girl, Anna, ( our 5th child) was just 4 months old.
Just yesterday this same sweet gal turned 3 years old. In celebration, I thought re posting this would be neat!
My desire for her is still the same. And of course for all our children. My greatest desire and pray for them is that they love God with all their hearts, minds, and souls. That they love the truth. And that they would make God the center of their lives. That is my greatest wish, and is the focus of all my parenting efforts.

Mae

He will answer every prayer

He Will Answer Every Prayer

God has given you His promise, That He hears and answers prayer;
He will heed your supplication,If you cast on Him every care.

( chorus )
He will answer every prayer, He will answer every prayer,
Go to Him in faith believing, He will answer every prayer.

He will not with-hold one blessing, He will give you want is best;
God will answer by His spirit, Every one who makes request.

He can hear the great petition, And the smallest, over there;
Unto God pray without ceasing, He will answer every prayer.

Take to God your plans and failures, Any time and anywhere;
No one e'er has gone unanswered, For He answers every prayer.

~ by Mary Bernstecher

Another very beutiful  and true song about a prayer.
 Hoping that you will be encouraged by this post, and wishing you a very wonderful blessed day!
He will answer your every prayer!!

Mae

I Know who holds tomorrow......

 I Know who Holds Tomorrow

I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day.
I don't borrow form it's sunshine,
For it's skies may turn to gray.
I don't worry over the future,
For I know what Jesus said,
And today I will walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.

( Chorus )

Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know who holds tomorrow,
An I know who holds my hand!

Every step is getting brighter,
As the golden stairs I climb;
Every burden's getting lighter;
Every cloud is silver lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eye,
At the ending of the rainbow,
Where the mountains touch the sky.

I don't know about tomorrow,
It may bring me poverty;
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me.
And the path that be my portion.
May be through the flame or flood,
But His presence goes before me.
And I'm covered with His blood.
 ~ Ira Stanphill

What a beautiful song! And what a wonderful reminder of God's great love and care for us!
No matter what the 'morrow may hold He has us covered safely under his wings!!  ( Psalms 91:4 )
We may not know what tomorrow will hold, but we know He holds tomorrow come what may, and that is enough!
     He holds tomorrow, and He holds my hand!!!  Yay me!!!
In Him,
Mae

Fear not for God is with you.

   Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth,
and called thee from the chief men thereof,
and said on to thee, Thou art my servant;
I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.

   Behold, all they that were incensed against thee
shall be ashamed and confounded:
they shall be as nothing;
and they that strive with thee shall perish.

  Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them,
even them that contend with thee:
they that war against thee shall be as nothing ,
and as a thing of nought.

   Fear thou not; for I am with thee:
be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;
 yea,I will up hold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

     For I the Lord they God will hold thy right hand,
saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

        Isaiah 10: 9-13

 What beautiful words of protection and covering over us from our Heavenly Farther.  What great love and care He has bestowed up on His people.
   May we learn to trust and rest in Him always knowing that in Him we have nothing to fear!

Mae

A beutiful poem of God's care

 Here is a nice little poem I just came across the other evening while reading to the children in their story book.  The title of the book is Safe In His Care, by Lily A. Bear.  There was no title to the poem though.

We left our home so dear to all
In answer to God's call.
  He called us to another land;
  We were beneath His caring hand.

How sweet the promise we had claimed,
That God would be the same.
  It makes no difference where we'll live:
  The same great love, our God will give.

So serve Him faithfully each day,
And live the Bible way.
  Then you'll have peace, and want to share
  That you are daily in God's care.

Just thought that was very nice, and wanted to share.

How true that is. No matter where you are, or where you go, as long as you're in HIS will, you will always be in safe in HIS care.
  God's protecting arms are always around us. We only need to be ready and willing to follow His calling no matter where in the world  that may leads us.

 Keep on strong in the Lord and in the truth!!

Mae

Rockabye Baby

 Cleaning and scrubbing
  can wait til' tomorrow
For babies grow up,
  we've learned to our sorrow.....
So quiet down cobwebs,
  Dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my baby
  And babies don't keep.

~ Wendy Lyn

Oh, if only I could heed these words in the poem. Little ones grow up way to soon I know, and I need to cherish every moment. So I need slow down, relax, and enjoy!!   The cleaning, and laundry will always be there. But sadly the little ones won't always.

So quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep, and dirty laundry set there in a heap, cause I am rocking my baby, and babies don't keep!!!!

Mae

Motherhood --- the greatest career

Here is a sweet encouraging poems for moms.

Mother
Mother! If you think you're just a housewife
And your life is dull and drear
Because you don't bring home the pay
And you don't have a career.

'Cause you don't get out amongst the crowd,
To find out all that's new,
Just listen a moment
For I have news for you.

There's not a more important work
Throughout all the land,
Because you have the power
To change the world; within your hand.

So bring up your children
In the best way that that you know.
For the way they are brought up
Is the way the world will go.

They'll be leaders or followers
In twenty years or so
And their leadership will hinge
On everything they know.

So bring them up in the ways of God
So they may understand
If He's the ruler of their life
Then He will rule the land.

This is the only hope we have
For peace and joy, we know.
So mother, you must do your best.
It's the only way to go.

So mother, don't you feel left out
You're indispensable, my dear,
For the way the world will go
Depends on your career.

~ Harry Kruse

Motherhood is the highest calling and the greatest career any woman can have!!!
So embrace it and give it your all!!
Your children deserve it and you will be blessed for it!
In Him,
Mae

A poem for moms

I just wanted to share this cute poem that is on a hall hanging of mine.

Fingerprints

I know you get discouraged,
Because I am so small
And Always leave my fingerprints
On furniture

But everyday I'm growing,
I'll be all grown up someday,
And all the smudges that I did
Will surely fade away.

So here's another bunch of them
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small.

The World s Mine

I came across this lovely poem in a book i was reading to the children tonight. So i just had to share!!

The World Is Mine
Today, upon a bus I saw
A lovely maid with golden hair;
I envied her_ she seemed so gay_
And, oh, I wished i were so fair.
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle;
She had one foot, and wore a crutch_
But as she passed, she had a smile!

Oh, God, forgive me when I wine;
I have two feet! The world is mine!

And when I stopped to buy some sweets,
The lad who served me had such charm;
He seemed to radiate good cheer;
His manner was so kind and warm.
I said, "It's so nice to deal with you.
Such courtesy I seldom find."
He turned and said, "Oh thank you, sir!"
And then I saw that he was blind!

Oh, God, forgive me when I wine;
I have two eyes! The world is mine!

Then walking down the street I saw
A little boy with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched as others played;
It seemed he knew not what to do.
I stopped a moment; then said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word,
And then I knew he could not hear!

Oh, God, forgive me when I wine;
I have two ears! The world is mine!

With feet to take me where I'd go_
With eyes to see the sunset glow_
With ears to hear what I should know_

Oh, God, forgive me when I wine;
I'm blessed indeed! The world is mine!

Home is Best

Here is another poem i came across to day. I guess it's the day for poems!!

Home is Best
Stay, Stay at home, my heart and rest;
Home-keeping hearts are happiest,
For those that wander they know not where
Are full of trouble and full of care;
To stay at home is best.
Weary and homesick and distresses,
They wander east, they wander west,
And are baffled and beaten and blow about
By the winds of the wilderness of doubt;
To stay at home is best.
Then stay at home, my heat, and rest;
The bird is safest in it's nest,
Over all that flutter their wings and fly
A hawk is hovering in the sky;
To stay at home is best.
By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

A Child's Faith

I just came across this poem today while looking through one of my cook books.
So thought i would share it here.

A Child's Faith

"Jesus loves me, this I know,
For the Bible tells me so"_
Little children ask no more,
For love is all they're looking for,
And in a small child's shining eyes
The FAITH of all the ages lies---
And tiny hands and tousled heads
That kneels in prayer by little beds
Are closer to the dear Lord's heart
And of His Kingdom more a part
Than we who search, and never find;
The answers to our questioning mind-
For FAITH in things we cannot see
Requires a child's simplicity
For, lost in life's complexities,
We drift upon uncharted seas
And slowly Faith disintegrates
While wealth and power accumulates-
And the more man learns, the less he knows,
And the more involved his thinking grows
ANd, in his arrogance and pride,
no longer is man satisfied
To place his confidence and love-
With childlike FAITH in GOD above-
Oh, Farther grant once more to men
A simple childlike FAITH again
And, with small child's trusting eyes,
May all people come to realize
That FAITH alone can save man's soul
And lead him to a HIGHER GOAL.

Moms are like snowflakes

I just wrote this silly little poem last night. I thought to share it here, to give you a smile and a laugh for your day!!!
It just popped into my head. Don't even know how in the world i thought of snowflakes with it being over 70F here in Texas!! Don't ask me, but it happened. And here is the lovely product!!

Moms are like snowflakes
is really quite true.
For no two are alike,
Each one is so very unique .
They are sent from heaven above,
for all to enjoy.
And both are individually designed and hand crafted by God himself!
Everyone beholds their beauty.
And all the children delight to play with them.
Keep them cool or they will both surely melt.
( us Texans moms can testify the truth in that!)
So by this silly little poem,
it's easy to see it really is true,
that moms and snowflakes are indeed alike!

See i warned you it was silly!! But hope you got a kick out of it just the same.
If you can think of ways that moms and snowflakes are alike, please leave me a comment and let me know!!

Farthers are Wonderful People

I know I am a day late, but here is somthing for the farthers!
Its a poem I clipped from somthing awhile back. Written by Helen Steiner Rice.

Farthers are wonderful people
Too little understood,
And wedo not sing thier praises
As often as we should.....

For, somehow, Farther seems to be
The man who pays the bills
While mother binds up little hurts
And nurses all our illls....

And Farther struggles daily
To live up to "HIS IMAGE"
As protector and provider
And " hero of the scrimmage"...

And perhaps that is the reason
We somtimes get the notion
That Farthers are not sunject
To the thing we call emotion,

But if you look inside Dad's heart,
Where no one eles can see,
You'll find he's sentental
And as "soft" as can be...

But he's so busy every day
In the grueling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff
To his parter and his wife...

But Farthers are just a WODERFUL
In a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
And accolade of praise.

For the only resaon Dad aspiries
To fortune and sucess
Is to make the family proad of him
And to bring them happinesss....

And like OUR HEVENLY FARTHER,
HE's a gaurdian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on
To be ALWAYS ON OUR SIDE.

A Silly Poem

How time files! Its been a few weeks already since I last made an entry! Life has been busy, good, but busy. Will be so glad when my last son finshes up his school for the year! Then things will slow down, right? Wrong!!! Mommys with small children know life never slows down! Of cousre it does get alittle easier when school is over for the year though. I will share a silly little poem I wrote sometime in the winter.

My time is not my own,
it all belongs to the sweet children of mine,
Mommy do this, Mommy do that!
somtimes I could just sit and moan,
about the circumstance I am in.
But what good would I achieve then,
so instead I will choose to rise,
With a big smile on my face, shine,
And say what a blessed Mom am I!

( I warned you it was silly!! Not a good rythm patteren either!)

I am loving the spring, I always try to soak up as much cool weather as I can before it starts to get hot here!! I am always amazed every spring how everything turns green so suddenly here in our neck of the woods! Trees and bushes seem to go from bare and drab to totaly green and beutiful over night!! Its so pretty!!! ( I can not belive I am admiting that I love the spring here or even think its pretty, because my heart is in Notheren Alberta. My birth place, I miss it!!) But of course spring time is nice here, its the summmer that is unbareable!!

I have had a alot more wonderful things on my mind latly that I will have to share here soon as I have time. So looking forward to that.

Well I better get off here and get on with my morning!
Blessings to you all, Mae
