As we go into this new year of 2013, I want to make sure I start it off on the right foot!
First I am thanking the Lord for keeping us safe and taking care of us way beyond what we deserved in 2012. What a blessed and wonderful year it had been!
Here is just a few of the blessings from last year......
~ our paper work went through for my husbands Canadian permanent residence in early 2012 therefore making it possible for us to live and work here in Alberta.
~ we had a good and safe return trip up here end of April.
~ we got snuggled and comfortable settled in our house here again.
~ my husband got a really good job that he likes very quickly.
~ we had a very good summer and grew lots of vegetables with my parents. ( full canning jars, bulging freezers, and full bins of potatoes, beets, and carrots in the cold room tells the story)
~ the children have all been very healthy, and growing like weeds.
~ many prayers have been answered.
~ wondeful firends nearby
~ we've had good and fun winter so far!
~ this old house is staying nice warm for us ( something that I had been a little worried about )
~ and many, many more little wonderful ways that we have been greatly blessed by our loving Father!!
Secondly I want to thank the Lord for the blessing of the first couple days of this new year! I thank Him for each new day of life that He gives us. It is so easy to take our life for granted, but God has said our life is like a vapor, " Here to day, gone tomorrow." So each day is a gift from God! And we need to make the most of each day!
My only goal for this year is to use each day of it wisely and faithfully to Lord.
~I want to spend more quality time with my husband and children,
~ put my self out for others more.
~ I want to spend much more time on things that edify family and my self, and alot less time on the things that don't!
~ write more letters to family and friends
~ more phone calls ( family watch out! )
~ I want to encourage, uplift, and inspire others more
~ write lots of great posts here on my blog
~ spend lot less time on fruitless things, and much more time on things that bear fruit! :)
~ I want to read much more great books to my kids! ( I can't get enough of reading to my kids!!)
~ I want to spend more time loving, hugging, and talking, and listening to my kids.
~ I want to show my husband what an awesomely great fantastic guy I think he is!!
~ I want to to encourage him to keep strong in Lord as he keeps leading and guiding his family after the ways of the Lord! ( christian dads have a huge responsibility )
.
Lord I commit this year to you. May I use each and every day of this year that you bless me with for your glory only. Lord help me as I tend and care for these children that you have blessed us with. Praying for your strength Lord as I face each day. Thank you Lord for all your blessings that you have poured over us. Thank you for the gift of life!
Wishing all you of you a fantastic year! May you use each day for the glory of Lord!
In Him,
Mae

up-date on my goals
Well i think its been about a month since i have established my set of goals for the rest of the summer and beyond for some.
Heres a look at how i have done so far on them.
Decluttering and Organizing- barely happening , just a tiny bit. Got to work harder on that.
Daily Excersise- not happening. Its been more like weekly excersise!! Oh no, I got to get in to action!
Daily Bible Reading- happening for the kids, but not for me. I am so dissapointed in my self. I had planed to get up ealier and read while its quiet in the house. Well will try harder or appoinnt another time.
Going no Caffine- Thats happening! And i feel so good about it to. I am so glad to beable to say that i am sticking to one of my goals!! Except for an ocassional cup of coffee, like one a week. An actually thats what i am sipping on right now! Yes, caught in the very act!!
Eating a healthy Breakfast- happening!! I started this goal just a bout 2 weeks ago. And i have only scumed twice!! I had originally planned this goal for just a one month trail, To see how i would feel. See i had been feeling so tired and slugggish by mid-morning most days, epesially while i ws still doing 2 to 3 cups of coffee every morning. But now since I descided to cut out sweets for breakfast i have felt so much better all morning long.
So i feel like i will always try to do this. I also want to try having fruit only for breakfast often as I can ( thanks to a friend for sgguesting that.) I am exctied about doing that. It should be so healthy and give me energy.
My mom sugessted i try cutting out starches and add fresh vegtables as well.( She does this for my Dad who is diabetic. Oh i haven't forgotten that I was going to write a post on that)
I do have to keep in mind that I am a breasfeeding mom so I should proabaly make sure I get my protien in the morning as well.
Drinking more water- This is a new goal for my list. I have always been fairly good at drinking plenty of water but seems even harder to get enough when its so hot and I am nursing. That combo really depleats you. I should fill me some bottles and keep them in the fridge for easy grabbing and will be very refreshing!!
Wish me luck on my goals , i will need it!!

Eating a healthy breakfast
I have just added a new goal to my goal list.
It is eating a healthy breaksfast every morning for a month!! And then we will see from there.
What has brought this on is that more often than not I find my self srambling arounnd at the last mintue in the mornings trying to figure out what to have for breakfast , and it ends up being somthing sweet.
So to fix this problem I have descided to plan a head on breakfast. Plan for somthing healthy. That will hopefully give me energy for the day and make me feel good.
Latly by mid morning I have been feeling so tired and sluggish and I have blamed it on my junky breakfast. Mostly the breaksfastest was sweet dry cerael, or sweetend oatmeal, toast with sweet jelly, or pancakes with sweet toppings, and occasionally eggs. Oh and when i was still hvaing cooffee it was 2 to 3 cups of coffee a morning with 1/4 tsp. sugar to each. I feel the comination of the coffee and the sweet breaksfast gave me a very bad start on the day.
I have know for so long that breakfast is the most importian meal of the day. But i was not treating it like it was.
So to start my ,"healthy breakfast for one month", off this morning I had scrambled eggs with hot dogs ( i know hot dogs is not to healthy but thier not sweet and thats what i am foucesing on right now), toast with only butter, a bannana and a glasss of milk.
My Dad is diabetic and just recently they have found out it you cut out almost all starches and go mostly raw you can reverse diabeteas. They have the book Death to Diabetes. www.DeathtoDiabetes.com Anyway it said just to focus on breakfast first, cut out all startches, and have brocile and brussle sprouts alot. He has cut back on his insulin since hes been doing that. I think he has been doing that about a month now. I will talk more baout that in a futuer post.
Anyway i was thinking i would probably feel good too if i had brocile and brussle sprouts for breafast!! I really ought to try it!!
If any one has good healthy breafast ideas plaease tell me!

summer goals
I know the summer is half way over ( although it doesn't feel like it here Texas :), but I still have a bunch of goals i would like too accomplish.
Decluutter - This is my biggest goal. I want to major declutter, down size on number of things that just seemed to find there way under foot constanly! And organize. Early in the summer we built some really good shelevs in the kids room and that has helped so much in organizing thier toys, story books, and school books. But theres still many other areas that could use a good dose of declutter and and organizing. Lkie for instance, don't step foot in my room!! :)
Daily Excerise - This is really a major one too! I feel i have gotten so lazy in the excerise department, and gotten so fat around the belly department!!! So need to do somthing serisouly! I had hope that walking around in my garden would do the trick, but it don't seem too. :)
And this heat has not made me feel like walking down our road. I have though a few times recently went for a 2 mile bike ride. So i am hoping to keep that up atleast everyone other night.
I don't know how that is for working down a belly though!?
My goal is to iether walk or bike aleast a mile daily.
Daily Bible Reading- another biggy on my list!! Actually this one is at the very top!! I have been so neglectful in this area. I have beeen reading to the children in thier bible book daily, either morning or eveing. But my own reading has not been happening at all. I would like very much do be reading daily, but it sure takes effort and seems really like you just have to set time aside for that, or it don't happen. Maybe I will plan on getting up at 6:oo, while the house is still nice and quite, and read. Then chores , commputer time, and get breakfast.
Planning Menus- This is one of my very low points. Like very low, like most of the time i do not know what we are going to eat for that meal till just an hour or two before hand!! :)
So that means it has to be somthing quick, beacuse i don't have much time left to work with!
And also very often i will start a meal say like speghiti and then find i do not have any noooles!!
I know that would not happen if i had planned ahead.
I would so love to beable to plan a menu for a week, aleast just suppers, and then shop and having everything i need for those meals. So i will defianlly work hard on that goal.
Going Off Caffine- Actaully it would be going off coffee biengs that is the only form of caffine i have. I don't do any soda drinks.
and I don't even mean going off coffee 100% but just cutting back. I have did very well on that so far already. Both my husband and I descided to cut back on coffee and even missed 2 whole weeks this past month! But now we are just having some on the weekends.
No really reason for cutting back coffe except just felt it wasn't somthing that was best for our bodies on regular baises and was somthing we could certainly live with out. Actually we were both feeling rather tired and sluggish with drinking a few cups of coffee every day.
So i plan to continue to keep that up. Of course in the summmer with the heat you hardly desire a cup of coffee anyway.
Well thats my goals .
I will update preodiaclally on how i am doing with them.
