strong in Him

Just wanted to write a quick post to share what the Lord has put on my heart lately.

I have always been so careful not to say or write anything that may offend someone, that I am certain there have been times I could have been a help to someone, but instead I kept quiet.

Recently I have been convicted that I need to be more concerned for those I can be a help to in the things I say, and less concerned over those that I may offend in what I say.

Of course I would never intentionally say anything to hurt or offend another.

But yet my focus needs to be on helping and encouraging. I never know who I may be able to help or encourage by what I say.

If I am always timid in proclaiming the truth how am I to help someone that way?

And through my strength another can be strengthened .

So I writing to say if you have truth to say, say it!
Do not be timid, or shy ,or worry of offending.

Of course say it in the most nicest way you can. But get it it out there. It won't help no one if you have some wonderful truth but it goes no farther than you!!

Let us be bold in the truth and in the Lord!!
And let us share with one another what God puts on our hearts.
For we never know who we can be a blessing to.
In Him,
Mae

The power of Satan

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about , seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8

Satan has great power, and we need to be aware of it. If we do not acknowledge or make ourselves, and our children aware of Satan's power then we can easily be effected by it. We need to know how and in what ways he works.
He trys to get at us each and every day. And each and every day we need to knock him down!

Here is a few ways Satan uses to get at us....

~~ giving us negative and ungodly thoughts

~~ tormenting our minds with worry and doubt

~~Tellling us God is not big enough to protect us.

~~ wearing down our moral standards and Godly principals via the media

~~ keeping us so busy that we don't have time for family devotion time

~~ bad influence from wrong friends

~~ by lack of communication with our spouse and children

~~ through false prophets

~~ by ruining the home atmosphere with a T.V. going all the time

~~ slipping in some bad things in a " good" movie, or convincing us that bad movies won't hurt us
~~ by appearing like a sheep in stead of that famous picture of this scary red devil with horns and a pointed tail!
(Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15)

So what can we do to stop Satan's power.

~~ by being aware of Satan's great power and the ways he works

~~By Loving and obeying God with all your heart, mind and soul.

~~Stand strong on the word of God.

~~Never believe anything unless you can back it in the Bible.

~~ Beware of false prophets

~~ Do not neglect Bible reading and prayer time.

~~ keep communication lines flowing all the time between you and your spouse and children

~~ do not let your home be controlled by a T.V.

~~ " Submit yourselves therefore unto God. Resit the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7
~~ beware of man's traditions ( if they don't line up with the Bible, then throw them out)

Let us never forget the power of Satan, yet remember God's power is greater, and through God we have the power to destroy all the works of the devil. Satan has no more power or control in our lives than what we allow.

May you live strong for God always!!!

In Him,
Mae

God's promises

I promised a post on God's Promises couple months now.
And it still hasn't happened. This post is to apologize and explain why.

I took notes and looked up verses in my Concordance, and had this post all done on paper. Getting the time to write it here on my blog was another story though. My time was filled with new bay, schooling, and packing. So i decided to wait and write it after arriving back here.

Well wouldn't you know it, we were down the road a day or two, when I realized my big, long notes were back at our house in Canada. So I phoned my mom and told her. She said she could go by my house and pick it up and mail it to me.
Well weeks were going by and I began to wonder if it was lost in the mail or something. So the other day when i was talking to her I mentioned it . As it turns out she forgot and left it in her house in Alberta, and now she is in B.C for the winter!!
So no notes, which means no post on God's Promises.

I am so sorry i have not kept my promise on this yet.

Aren't you glad we serve a GOD that always keeps HIS promises!!!

God has made many promises to those who love and obey Him, and we can rest assured He will keep every last one of them!!
How awesome is that!!
All we have to do is love and obey Him, and embrace and claim them as ours!!
Satan want's to plant in our heads that God can't keep his promises, but that's a lie.

I still have very good intentions of looking up all those verses again and writing this post. I just can't say when i will get it done though.

Well until next time,
In Him,
Mae

drawing closer to God

Want to make the devil run for his life?

" Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil , and he will flee from you."
Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands ye sinners ; and purify your heart, ye double minded."
James 4: 7-8

Isn't that awesome!!
The closer we come to God, the farther we get from the devil and the power that he has on us.

That why I love our Bible reading time each day so much for-- because not only are we taking in God's word, but we are also leaving less time for the negative things.
Some times the end of a day will come, and I feel bad that we did not end up reading the Bible that day. And it makes me feel really bad. Then I console my self that it is not really important to read everyday-- It is the life we live, not our daily Bible reading that counts.
True of course.
But the Bible reading time is more valuable than just learning God's word, it is taking time up that may other wise be used negativity.
So it is a totally win win thing!!

And here we come back to that verse again! "When we draw near to God, the devil will flee from us".
When we fill our lives with Bible reading and prayer time, quality family time, pure thoughts, good books, and other good and wholesome things : we leave no space for Satan! He will just have to go knocking on someones eles's door, cause we have no time or space for him!!!

May you have a very close and fullfilling walk with our Lord!!
In Him,
Mae

it's the little things

~~ It's the sound of my baby cooing.

~~ It's the words, " I love you mom", printed on my son's school page.

~~ It's Sarah telling me, " your cute mom!"

~~ It's listening to my 6 year old son reading.

~~ It's my sweet Anna's blond wavy hair.

~~ It's seeing Nathan so lovingly help his little sister Anna.

~~ It's seeing the children happily playing or working together.

~~ It's my baby's adorable smiles!

~~ It's hearing each of my children pray at our family prayer time.

~~ It's the heart shaped cut out with the words, "I love you mom," neatly printed on it.

~~ It's the hugs from Sarah.

~~ It's snuggles with my little ones.

~~ It's having all my children sitting around me on the sofa as i read to them.

~~ It's the reaction i get when someone sees all my children for the first time!! ( You know what it's like, " Are they all yours?", with their eyes bulging and thier mouth hanging open!!)

~~ It's my big boys help!

~~It's the cute things Sarah says.

~~ It's Anna's cute little faces she makes!!

It's all these many precious little things that keep me doing what I do, and loving it too!

It's all these little things that make the hard work of being a mom all worth while!!

These are the things that get me up in the mornings and keep me going strong all day long!

It's because of all these and much more: that at the end of a long tiring day ; I can say with a smile, "I love being a MOM!"

Mae

His Love

I absolutely love the chapter of Psalm 139.
It is so comforting. It reassures us that God is always with us, no matter what. Doesn't matter where we are, and where we go, or what happens in our lives; He is always there for us, protecting us, loving us, guiding us, and careing for us.
I encourage you to take a moment and read it now. It will give you acouragement and the a boost for the day!!

I will share a couple of the verses here that we have as our memory verses for the week.

"How, precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them. If I should count them they are more in number than the sand: When i awake , I am still with thee. " Psalm 139: 17-18

How precious is that!!
"Thank you God for your great love and protection over me. I know I have nothing to worry about. You have me covered!!!"

In Him,
Mae
