Humbly yours ~ Jesus

I don't really know what made me think of it. But i was thinking about all the pretty Easter dresses and suites and stuff that is on sale at stores right now.
And i was thinking about all the men, and women, and children dressed in their Easter finery and going off to church this Easter Sunday.
And i was thinking about all that glamor, and all that expence some put out to look that way.
Then i thought of who they are dressing up to worship.
They are dressing all up to the tilt to worship the most humblest being there ever was - Jesus.
Something doesn't seem right there does it?

Let's look at what the Bible says about Jesus being humble.

Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high. Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven and earth! Psalm 113: 5-6

.....He was led as a sheep to the slaughter ; and like a lamb dumb before His shearer, so he opened not his mouth:
In His humiliation his judgment was taken away; and who shall declare his generation? For His life was taken from the earth. Acts 8 :32-33

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Wherefore God also exalted him and gave him a name above every name. Philippians 2:8-9

Here is also a few things that we read about Jesus that we can easily see He was a humble man.

Jesus was born in a manger. _ Luke 2:7
Jesus was not good looking. _ Isaiah 52:14, Isaiah 53: 2-3
Jesus said, "Why call ye me good? There is none good except for the Farther. _ Matthew 19:17
Jesus said, " foxes have holes, but the son of man has no place to lay his head. _ Math. 8:20, Luke 9:58.

Now i am not saying that pretty dresses, and handsome suites is wrong, or dressing up in general .
But this Easter picture doesn't look quite right to me. Does it to you?

Well once again sharing my thoughts that God puts on my heart.
Love to hear what you think.

Jesus taught the peole saying.......

( While looking up verses for my last post, I got insight for this one! ) I just love the words and teachings of Jesus. Here is just a few of the things he taught the people while he was yet with them on earth.

  • to love your enemies ( Matthew 5:44 )

  • bless those who curse you and do good those who hate you ( Math. 5:44 , Luke 6:28)

  • give to them that ask ( Math. 5:42 )

  • pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you ( Math. 5:44)

  • to love you neighbor as your self ( Math19:19, Math. 22:39, Mark 12:31 )

  • resist not evil ( Math. 5:39 )

  • not to swear ( Math. 5:34 )

  • judge not ( Math. 7: 1-2 )

  • to forgive one another ( Math. 6: 14-15, Luke 6:37 )

  • to be perfect ( Math 5: 48 )

  • beware of false prophets ( Math 7: 15-21 )

  • not to break any of the commandments ( Math. 5:18-19 )

  • fear not what man can do to you ( Luke 12: 4 )

  • but to fear God ( Luke 12:5 )

  • visit those in prison ( Math. 25:36 )

  • feed the hungry and entertain strangers ( Math. 25: 35 )

  • go and teach all nations ( Math. 28:19 )

  • have faith in God ( Mark 11: 22 )

What wonderful words of life they are!

JESUS -- Our excample

In 1 John 2:6 we read.... "He that saith he abideth in him, ought himself also to walk, even as he walked." Jesus gave us a very example to live by. If we take a good look at how He walked, we will see clearly how He wants and expects us to walk.

  • Jesus was perfect ( Matthew 5: 48 )

  • Jesus was humble ( Philippians 2:8, Acts 8:32-33, Psalm 113:6 )

  • Jesus kept His Father's commandments ( Matthew 15: 10 )

  • In Him was no sin or guile ( 1 John 3:5, 1Peter 2:22 )

  • Jesus was a servant ( Matthew 12:18, Philippians 2:7 )

  • Jesus was Holy ( 1 Peter 1:16 )

  • Jesus had no respect of persons ( Romans 2:11, 1 Peter 1:17, Colossians 3: 25 )

  • Jesus was just ( Isaiah 45:21, Acts 3:14, Acts 7:52, Romans 7:12 )

  • Jesus was meek and lowly (1 Peter 2:19-21 & 23, Matthew 11:29 )

  • Jesus did not fight back at His accusers ( 1 Peter 2: 19-21& 23, John 18: 10-11)

  • Jesus did not do His own thing here on Earth, but the work of His Farther who sent Him ( John 4:34, John 9:4, John 17: 4 )

  • Jesus loved the little children ( Matthew 18:1-6 )

  • Jesus had a heart for the maimed, the lame, the blind, the lost, the sick, the leppers, the poor, and the desolate ( Matthew 15:24, Luke 19:10, Matthew 11:5, Matthew 15:30-31, Luke 14:13-14, Luke 14:21, Mark 7: 32-33, Matthew 21:14, Luke 7:22 )

Jesus is our most perfect example.

So may all of us that say, "we abide in Him", may we also, " walk even as He walked."

I believe....

Just a few things i believe.

  • I believe the Bible is the true inspired word of God. ( 2 Timothy 3:16 )

  • I believe if we truly Love God we will keep His commandments, and will not find them grievous. ( 1 John 5:3 , 1 John 2: 3-5 )

  • I believe God sent His only begotten son , and that whosoever believeth on him, shall not perish, but have ever lasting life. (John 3:16 )

  • I believe children are gift and a blessing from God. ( Psalms 127:3-5 )

  • I believe each day that God gives us on earth is a blessing, and that we should use that time wisely, and only for His glory. ( James 4:14 )

  • I believe the husband is to be the head of the home. ( Ephesians 5:23 )

  • I believe that whosoever saith that he abideth in God ought to walk even as He walked. (1 John 2:6 )

  • I believe our role here on earth is to be servants of God. Period.

  • I believe God protects His people, and that we have absolutely nothing to fear if we walk in Him. ( Psalms 46:1-2, 2 Samuel 22: 2-4, Psalm 9:9-10, Psalm 91: 2-12, 1 Peter 3:12-13, Proverbs 16:7, Psalm 34:7 )

  • I believe nothing happens that is not apart of God's plan, and that all things are in His control.

  • I believe our spiritual food is just as important as our physical food.

  • I believe God chastises those He loves. ( Hebrews 12:6-7, Deut. 8:5-6, Psalms 94:12 )

  • I believe the closer we are to God the happier and blessed we will be.

  • I believe the more we die to flesh, the more abundantly we can live for God ,and God will live more abundantly in us.

  • I believe salvation is a gift from God.

  • I believe Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and in Him alone we have forgiveness for our sins.

  • I believe we should start and end each day with a prayer of thanksgiving to God.

  • I believe God alone is the giver of life.

  • I believe if we truly are living for God, then it should be no longer us that liveth, but Christ that live in us. ( Galatians 2: 20 )

Ugh!

I have just noticed that my last 2 posts have not turned out good. I put a lot of good spacing between my sentences, and had it really easy to read. Now i see that it is all jammed together. I do not know why that happened. I have try editing those post, and spacing every thing out again, but seen they are still just the same. So i give up. I am so sorry. I do hope even though it is hard to read, that you will take the time to read it anyway. It is a good read! Mae

when mommy says....mommy means this.....

Just recently it has came to my attention that i seriously need to sit down with all my dear children and have a little talk with them. Some how they have not learned yet just through it experiences, some of Mommy's way of saying what she means. I am gonna have to explain to them that when mommy says a certain thing, she actually means something else. I know that may seem kind of confusing , but really it's not, once you learn the language! ( my oldest son has pretty much got it down pat now, it's just my younger ones) Here's what i am going to tell them at our little meeting. When mommy walks out the door and sees the bucket of cat food spilled on it's side, and says, " oh man, who spilled the cat food?" _ she means if you did it or not, it needs cleaned up now! When mommy ask, " you haven't done your dishes yet, Clayton?" _ she means it is high time they are done!" When mommy says, " on no, Anna is eating a crayon!" _ she mean someone hurry and get that crayon out of her mouth. When mommy walks in to the bathroom and exclaims in a loud and not so happy tone, "what are all these muddy foot prints on the floor?" _ she means clean up these foot prints right now, regardless of who did it. When mommy walks in the kids room and says, "oh man, what a mess in here!" _ it means you had better start cleaning up. When mommy asks, "who all hasn't brushed their teeth yet?" _She means those who haven't need to do it now. When mommy says, "I am sooo thirsty." _ Some one better get her some water and in a hurry to boot! When mommy gets in the van to go somewhere ( and in a rush like usually) and announces, "oh, i have no more water bottles in here!" _ She means some better run get a bottle of water. Or when mommy jumps in the van and says, "oh no we don't have Anna's pacifier or blanket!" _ She means, "some one, run get it, and hurry, we are late!!" When mommy finally gets the meal done and finally gets to sit down at the table, and looks around to see that no one has any cups. And she says, "wheres every one's cup?" _ that means she is asking for a volunteer to get up and get them. When mommy says, "oh no, look at Anna's dirty face!" _ she expects some one to get a rag and wipe her face. When mommy announces, "Gosh is it ever hot in here." _ it means someone needs to open some windows. ( that's in the winter time when the wood heater is working a little to good!:) When mommy says, " look at all these toys all over the floor!" _ she means it is time they were picked up. When Clayton gets out of bed,( when the rest of us are already sitting down eating), and goes to stand by the wood heater, and mommy says, "The food is over here." _ that means it is time to come sit at the table and and eat, your running late. Maybe it is to much to expect them to learn the secret code. But i think they could with some good training and my little meeting! :) They all know the 2 really good when mommy is getting in the van. Now we just got to work on the rest!! Let me know if you use this kind of code at your home too. Surely i am not the only one! In Him, Mae

Let's try that again

You know what i love about a new day? I love that we get a new chance, a new opportunity to start afresh. Sure i may have made mistake the other day __corrected my children too harshly, or let something slide that i shouldn't of, said something unthoughtful to my husband, got impatient with the kids ;but now that it is a brand new day- i get a whole new shot at it. I maybe can't undo what i did yesterday, but i can try it all over again. I can learn from my mistakes. Maybe I can not un-do what i did or said, but by golly i can make right my wrong, i can fix my mistakes, I can say i am sorry, i can forgive and forget. I can be forgivien. I can talk to my children and say, " you know what mommy lost it yesterday, mommy ran out of patience and said something she shouldn't of, or corrected in a way mommy shouldn't of". Or , "Mommy was busy and let something slide that she shouldn't of, but that's not going to happen again." And explain how that situation should have been handled. I get another try! Because it's a new day! Yesterday is long gone!! God has given me more time. He has blessed me with another day. Wow, another day to serve my God, another day to tend to and instruct my children, another day to be a blessing to my husband!! May i use this day wisely and only for His glory. May i be a blessing to others that i may be in the presence of today. It is your new day too! If you made mistakes yesterday like me, don't worry: because if your up and breathing that means God blessed you with more time, a fresh start! So come on let's try that again!!! In Him, Mae
