God's Way or the highway

I have no clue how many different churches and denominations there is out there. But i know it is a great many. And i presume they all claim they have the truth and they have way to heaven. And everyone is called Christians that go to all these many different kinds of churches.
So it would seem then that it would not matter at all which church you went to, they all lead to heaven anyway. So just choose the one that best suites your fancy or live style. Right?
Wrong!

That isn't what we read in the Bible.
" There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling.
One Lord, one Faith, one baptism.
One God and Farther of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."
Ephesians 4: 4-6

There's only one faith and one true way. Not many ways. But only God's way.
And we can all be led into God's truth and that true way by His Spirit.

" Howbeit when he, the spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth : for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will show you things to come." John 16:13

" But the anointing which ye have received of him abide in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things , and is truth, and is no lie, and even at it as taught you, ye shall abide in Him.
And now, little children, abide in Him: that , when he shall appear, we may have confidence , and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 1 John 2: 27-28

That is why I am so into the husband and the Dad in home to teach the family and not a church. All you need is God's word and his spirit of truth in you, and he will lead you into all truth.
That is it, that very simple.
So there may be many denominations, doctrines, and claims of many ways out there, but it ain't got nothing on us. We know there is only one true way, God's Way.
And His way is available for all.
So go God's way, not the highway that leads to destruction! ( Matt. 7: 13-14 )

the balancing act

This post is on balancing.
Balancing all the many things in our lives.
Everything takes time. Everything should have it's own time. And we all have many, many things going on.

If things get out of balance, then something can get neglected or deleted completely from our daily schedule, which can mean a great disaster depending on what it is.

Every home and family is special and unique. Each one of us has something different going on from the next, either different needs, or different interests and so on. Some of us live in in the country with animals and gardens, some on big farms and ranches with lots of work to do, and others in town with only a tiny yard to tend. Some of us have large families, and some only a couple children. Some of us have just little children, some have teens only, and others have both teens and littles.
So that means every home has it's own set of things to balance. Their own set of priorities.
Some things of course will take longer than others. But just the same I feel everything needs a right balance.

This is our basic balance of things at our house.

Text Color
School of course takes the most time in a day, at least 4 to 6 hr.s ( less for only a preschooler or K student)
Music practice takes from 15 to 30 min.
Family devotions take 15 to 30 min. or longer either once or twice a day.
Night time stories and bed time prayers, 15 to 25 min.
Dishes and after meal clean up probably 25 to 20 min.
Meal preparation, 30 min. to and hr. or more, each meal.
Extra reading practice , about 15 min.
Laundry, though it is not always done daily can take an hour or more.
A craft, maybe 30min. to an hr.
Odd chores around the house ( sweeping, vacuuming, picking-up, ect..), anywhere from 5 to 25 min.
Sports and other outside-the-home activities-- at this point we don't do any thing at all in that area.
Of course there is free time, fun reading time, game time, time for writing letters, and so on.
My kids are not using the computer for anything yet so there is no time slot for them for that. As for my self i try to keep it to a very moderate time for my blogging, e-mailing, and face book. ( blogging is done about weekly)
Time for animal chores -- though all my parents have is chickens, so that only takes a few mintues.
Summer time of course brings a whole new schedule, no school. But then comes gardening, and out door work . And various other out- door activities. Around here at my Dad and Moms there is great abundance for the kids to do.

Everything has it's right balance of time in our home, and our days run smoothly. Not to hectic, yet full , well rounded, and interesting. What we don't get done one day, we make up for the next.
The things that i make sure is concrete in every day is devotion time, and night time stories & prayers for my kids. NOTHING gets in the way of that!!

Something i would never care to balance into my day is a 1 or 2 hr. movie. Hardly nothing else takes that long in my day ( expect for school of course) ,so why should something useless like that take up so much time.
If a movie would only take 15 to say 30 min. max, as long as most of the other things in our day, then i may not mind so much. We maybe would even fit that in to our week at least once. ( providing it was good and wholesome)

Dear moms i urge you not to try to cram to much in your days and lives. Life can just get way too hectic and out of of balance if we try to do to much. And you know what, God does not expect that of us. In fact if you analyze most of things we try to do, i bet most of them will fall under the list of things that God does not expect of us, require of us, nor even want us to do.

And another thing God wants us to have our rest. I don't believe he wants or expects us to stay up way late at night trying to cram in more things in a day, or to have to rise ridiculously early to get a jump on the day.
Also He has blessed us with a weekly rest day. The day he created at the beginning of time, the Sabbath day. A day to put all work and other actives aside. A day to just rest and worship. He knew we needed this one day of rest each week, so He made it just for us. How very special is that! So take advantage of it, and use it just for that: rest, relaxation, enjoying your family, worshiping together. You will be blessed for it!

Well i will bring this to a close. I feel somehow that it is a bit jumbled and maybe even a bit incomplete, and am sorry if it is. I had great things on my mind i wanted to share, but then when it comes to writing it down, i fear i do not do to well.
But i hope you have found it a blessing and encouragement just the same.
Remember i love your comments!

Until next time,

happings here in the North

There has been heaps on mind to share. Lots of good things.

But this time just thought i would post about happenings around here ( way up North near Manning, Alberta, where the days are long, and wildlife roam) . Knew that would be of interest to my friends who want to keep up with how we are doing and what all is going on in our lives.
( I can really bet my Texas Friends are just dying to hear some news from me!! Missing you all!!:)

So here goes.

First I will talk about me.
Some friends of my mom's recommended a women doctor to me. So i had my first appointment with her yesterday. She is such a nice and sweet doctor. I am so thankful she was recommended to me. She reminds me of my previous sweet mid-wives i have had! ( mid-wives were not an option for me here because there was none around for a many, many miles) This doctor is only about an hour away. My pregnancy is going very good. I have felt so great the whole time so far! I am at about 27 weeks, with only about 12 more to go!! Due date is August 12th.

The kids are doing great!
They are loving it here at Dad and Mom's. So much for them to do. They have helped in the planting of Grandpa and Grandma's gardens as much as they could. Plus they got their own garden spots they have planted. They are so happy about that, and anxiously waiting for the plants to grow!! Will be good for them to be in charge of their own hoeing too! For as the plants grow, so will the weeds!!
I am so happy for all there is to do for the kids, in both work and play. They have not once ask to play a computer game or watch a DVD since they have been here!! ( Though it is not even an option, but i don't think they know that) My dad and mom do not have a T.V. We did bring our big DVD player, but have not planed for them to watch any DVDs through the summer, only in the winter when daylight hours are short and it is to miserable to be out side anyway ( but then only rarely, and has to be 100 percent good and wholesome). I feel so blessed to be here for the kids sake. And ever so thankful that my Dad and mom have no T.V, or don't do movies either. I just praise the Lord for that!

The weather has been very pleasant here.
The last couple days it has even been warmer here than at our home in Texas! There was a couple really windy days a few days ago, which is unusual for here in the valley. But now it isn't windy and is very nice, though a little cooler so far this morning. It is about 55 F right now. When we arrived there was lots of ice along both sides of the Peace River that runs near by, though the middle had been melted already awhile. But now all that ice is gone too. Sometimes it can last several weeks. I think it is a warmer spring this year than most.

The gardens are planted!
My Dad and Mom grow a couple big gardens every year, for their own use and to carry out to town to sell. So they have just finished all the planting for that. Some things are up already and doing good. There is a chance it could freeze again yet, but it something you just have to take a chance on! lol!! Of course most things can easily with stand a frost. The tomatoes though would be the things that would get damaged. Usually if you know it is going to frost the night before you can cover them, and protect them that way.

There has been a lot of fires around here in Alberta, though nothing very close to where we are. There is one community that has been burned bad by fires. That is so sad. With hard winds the fires can be so hard to contain, and especially in towns the fires easily jump from house to house.

Well i guess that's about all the happenings around here.

The next post i want to do is about balance: balancing the things in our life.
I feel everything needs to have a right balance. There is things that i wouldn't even be against if it had a right balance. Like for instance movies: if they only took 15 to 30 min. like our daily Bible reading time, or the kids daily music playing time, then i wouldn't i mind if they were a part of our weekly schedule , or even acouple times a week, ( but only if it was good). ( i personaly don't think a movie needs to be a part of our daily lives by no means, even if it was 15- 30 min. ) But anyway this is for the next post.

So keep reading and watching for great up coming posts!!

We are in Alberta, Canada

Hey , have posted in awhile. But for good reason, we have been in transit from our home in Texas to Northern Alberta.
We were about a week on the road and stop by family to visit along the way.
But are now at final destination which is at my parents place in a little community near Manning, Alberta. Way out in the sticks, but the most beautiful place ever!! ( my opinion only of course)

So we are a long way from Texas, the nice and beautiful warm State! It is cooler here for sure, but really feels nice. Nothing a light coat or jacket can't take care of!
All the snow is gone in this area. The Peace River that runs not to far from here is thawed out, but with lots of ice yet on both sides of the river. That will be like that for a few weeks yet.

The kids did great traveling. And are having a blast so far here!! So much to see and do at Grand parents place!!
We went through lots of snow going through the mountains in different of the states. Was so neat. It was even snowing in some areas.

Well now that we are here in the sticks where wildlife abounds, and it is day light till way late at night, I will have lots of interesting things to share about. Wished though that i had a fast way to post pic.s. I may start a new blog to share about our Alberta happenings. And just keep this one for my mothering and ministry spot. I will post a link for the new blog if i do start one. But that would be much more to keep up with. so we will see. I will think on that one for awhile. :)

So to close this post I will say my family are doing super great! We are so thankful to God to have made it possible for us to come here. We want our lives to be glory to Him, and to be a blessing to others no matter where he leads us.

I will keep posting as i have time and God puts wonderful things on my heart and mind.

Take care all, and remmber i love your comments!! I reply to comments, though it make take me awhile.

Humbly yours ~ Jesus

I don't really know what made me think of it. But i was thinking about all the pretty Easter dresses and suites and stuff that is on sale at stores right now.
And i was thinking about all the men, and women, and children dressed in their Easter finery and going off to church this Easter Sunday.
And i was thinking about all that glamor, and all that expence some put out to look that way.
Then i thought of who they are dressing up to worship.
They are dressing all up to the tilt to worship the most humblest being there ever was - Jesus.
Something doesn't seem right there does it?

Let's look at what the Bible says about Jesus being humble.

Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high. Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven and earth! Psalm 113: 5-6

.....He was led as a sheep to the slaughter ; and like a lamb dumb before His shearer, so he opened not his mouth:
In His humiliation his judgment was taken away; and who shall declare his generation? For His life was taken from the earth. Acts 8 :32-33

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Wherefore God also exalted him and gave him a name above every name. Philippians 2:8-9

Here is also a few things that we read about Jesus that we can easily see He was a humble man.

Jesus was born in a manger. _ Luke 2:7
Jesus was not good looking. _ Isaiah 52:14, Isaiah 53: 2-3
Jesus said, "Why call ye me good? There is none good except for the Farther. _ Matthew 19:17
Jesus said, " foxes have holes, but the son of man has no place to lay his head. _ Math. 8:20, Luke 9:58.

Now i am not saying that pretty dresses, and handsome suites is wrong, or dressing up in general .
But this Easter picture doesn't look quite right to me. Does it to you?

Well once again sharing my thoughts that God puts on my heart.
Love to hear what you think.

Jesus taught the peole saying.......

( While looking up verses for my last post, I got insight for this one! ) I just love the words and teachings of Jesus. Here is just a few of the things he taught the people while he was yet with them on earth.

  • to love your enemies ( Matthew 5:44 )

  • bless those who curse you and do good those who hate you ( Math. 5:44 , Luke 6:28)

  • give to them that ask ( Math. 5:42 )

  • pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you ( Math. 5:44)

  • to love you neighbor as your self ( Math19:19, Math. 22:39, Mark 12:31 )

  • resist not evil ( Math. 5:39 )

  • not to swear ( Math. 5:34 )

  • judge not ( Math. 7: 1-2 )

  • to forgive one another ( Math. 6: 14-15, Luke 6:37 )

  • to be perfect ( Math 5: 48 )

  • beware of false prophets ( Math 7: 15-21 )

  • not to break any of the commandments ( Math. 5:18-19 )

  • fear not what man can do to you ( Luke 12: 4 )

  • but to fear God ( Luke 12:5 )

  • visit those in prison ( Math. 25:36 )

  • feed the hungry and entertain strangers ( Math. 25: 35 )

  • go and teach all nations ( Math. 28:19 )

  • have faith in God ( Mark 11: 22 )

What wonderful words of life they are!

JESUS -- Our excample

In 1 John 2:6 we read.... "He that saith he abideth in him, ought himself also to walk, even as he walked." Jesus gave us a very example to live by. If we take a good look at how He walked, we will see clearly how He wants and expects us to walk.

  • Jesus was perfect ( Matthew 5: 48 )

  • Jesus was humble ( Philippians 2:8, Acts 8:32-33, Psalm 113:6 )

  • Jesus kept His Father's commandments ( Matthew 15: 10 )

  • In Him was no sin or guile ( 1 John 3:5, 1Peter 2:22 )

  • Jesus was a servant ( Matthew 12:18, Philippians 2:7 )

  • Jesus was Holy ( 1 Peter 1:16 )

  • Jesus had no respect of persons ( Romans 2:11, 1 Peter 1:17, Colossians 3: 25 )

  • Jesus was just ( Isaiah 45:21, Acts 3:14, Acts 7:52, Romans 7:12 )

  • Jesus was meek and lowly (1 Peter 2:19-21 & 23, Matthew 11:29 )

  • Jesus did not fight back at His accusers ( 1 Peter 2: 19-21& 23, John 18: 10-11)

  • Jesus did not do His own thing here on Earth, but the work of His Farther who sent Him ( John 4:34, John 9:4, John 17: 4 )

  • Jesus loved the little children ( Matthew 18:1-6 )

  • Jesus had a heart for the maimed, the lame, the blind, the lost, the sick, the leppers, the poor, and the desolate ( Matthew 15:24, Luke 19:10, Matthew 11:5, Matthew 15:30-31, Luke 14:13-14, Luke 14:21, Mark 7: 32-33, Matthew 21:14, Luke 7:22 )

Jesus is our most perfect example.

So may all of us that say, "we abide in Him", may we also, " walk even as He walked."
