I find it intresting that God refered to his people in the Bible as a peculiar people or a peculiar treasure. So if you stand out, look different , talk differnet, or seem just plain wired to others; thats ok, your just God's pecualir people!!!
Also I find it intersting that in most of those places it also calls his people a holy nation, and that they keep his commanments.
I have looked up in our concordance all the scriptures that are mintioned in the Bible that calls God's people peculiar. Here I have them listed. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covent, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of Priests, and a holy nation. Exodus 19: 5-6
For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all nations that are upon the earth. Deuteronomy 14: 2
And the Lord hath avouched thee this day to be His peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments: And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour: that thou mayest be an holy people unto the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken. Deuteronomy 26: 18-19 ( also read Duet. 26: 16-17)
For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure. Psalms 135: 4
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all inquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2: 14 (12 & 13 also)
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood ,an holy nation, a peculiar people: that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darknees into his marvellous light. 1 Peter 2:9
Were a peculiar people!! Isn't that awesome! May we live up to the name.
