Here is another one my face book like posts. I like them because they are easy to write, and should be easy to read as well.
Mae:
~ is thankful to God for a good and safe trip back to our home in Texas.
~had fun visiting Yellow Stone National Park, as well as Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments on our way back down from Canada.
~ was glad that we had the opportunity to go by those places for the kids. They really enjoyed that , and we got lots of pictures.
~ thought is was neat to return to Yellow Stone with our 6 kids: one of the places my hubby and I went on our honeymoon trip over 12 years ago!! ( we didn't get a speeding warning this tme ! :)
~ is missing her home in Alberta already!! And missing my friends to be sure!!
~ is thinking of some great things to share here on my blog. ( hopefully soon )
~ is trying to get back in a good routine again with school and everything else.
~ wishes she had high speed Internet to post pictures here. ( just may have to use my brother's high speed )
~ is so very thankful for a blessed summer in Alberta, and hoping for another one this coming year!!
~ will always refer to our place here in Texas as , "one of our homes" ( you can take the girl out of Canada, but you can't take the Canada out of the girl!)
~ is looking toward our future home in Heaven. We have to remember where our "home" really is. Were only passing through here. Our " home" is Above.
Well until next time,
In Him,
Mae

fall and me
It is FALL time!! My most favorite season!
It is so pretty with the fall colors: wish you could see what I see. Also wished i could post pictures, but my internet is too slow for that.
Here is some fall happenings here where I am in northern Alberta.
Grain farmers are harvesting their fields. Right by us the wheat fields are done, and now canola is next. It has been a bit rainy here, so has set back farmers for a couple days. I love seeing the swathers and combines in action, and the trucks taking the grain away. I have took pictures and even use my video camera some!!
The leaves are turning colors and falling. I love seeing leaves all over the yard. I don't know, it just looks so pretty to me!! The color around here is just yellow though, no reds like on maple trees.
The weather is cooler, but not cold. Not to me anyway. I am loving it!! Most mornings have been in the 40s F and day time is around 50s and 60s F. Right now it is 52F. This weather makes me want to be out side and run around like a child!! In fact I have been playing games out side with the kids in the evenings. We have the best place for hid-n-seek. Lots of out buildings and bushes and so on.
The gardens are all finished. I just canned the last of the tomatoes i had yesterday. They were picked green and as they ripened here in the house, i canned them. The root vegetables are all dug. Carrots and potatoes go in the root cellar. We have butter cup squash and zucchini squash in our basement. Lots of frozen vegys in the freezer.
Schooling is going full swing. I have Nathan in grade 6, Clayton in grade 3, and Sam in grade 1.
Keeps me very busy with them, and tending the other little ones. But everyone is doing good.
Baby Benjamin is really growing and doing wonderfully!! He wakes only once or twice during the night. I would say my best yet!
I so love this time of year and i have so loved all our time here!! So grateful for that!
At this point we have plans of heading back to Texas for the winter, and then returning again in the spring. I will miss it much.
But will be nice to see everyone in Texas again too.
Until next time,
In Him,
Mae
Right now my e-mail is down, so i have been unable to e-mail anyone.

A poem for moms
I just wanted to share this cute poem that is on a hall hanging of mine.
Fingerprints
I know you get discouraged,
Because I am so small
And Always leave my fingerprints
On furniture
But everyday I'm growing,
I'll be all grown up someday,
And all the smudges that I did
Will surely fade away.
So here's another bunch of them
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small.

praying for one another
In my searching on verses about prayer i have came across several about praying for others.
Here is a few of those verses.
" Brethren pray for us." 1 Thess. 4:25
"Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling , and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thess. 1:11
"Finally brethren, pray for us, that the word may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you." 2 Thess. 3:1
"I will therefore that men pray every where lifting up holy hands, with out wrath and doubting." 1 Tim. 2:8
"Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly." Heb. 13:18
There really is something in prayer isn't there?!!
Here is some references in the old Testament of verses where God's people prayed for different reasons.
Isaiah 37:15
2 Kings 4:33
2 Kings 6:17
2 Kings 19:15
Numbers 11:2
Numbers 21:7
It seems very obvious that God did want His people and does still want His people today, to pray, even though He knows all things before we even ask.
We know he is in full control of our lives at that nothing can happen that is not apart of His plan, but yet He wants us to pray. We know that he loves and cares for all His children where ever they are in the world, yet he wants us to pray for them and for each other. I know that He loves my husband and protects him where ever he goes, yet I know that God wants me to pray for him.
If you as I had been, curious about prayer and power of prayer, I urge you to do your own study on it. There is lots and lots of verses to look up. You can find them in a Bible concordance. I believe they will strengthen your prayer life, and over-all strengthen your walk in God.
We have a great power in prayer, we just have to embrace it and claim it as ours. We have to believe God loves us and take care of us, and have faith that God will answer our prayers.
Faith is the most important ingredient. We pray and then believe that He will.
I love hearing your thoughts!
In Him,
Mae

is doing so well since baby Benjamin has been born.
is so blessed that baby sleeps so well at night, only waking twice to nurse. I wake so refreshed and well rested.
can not believe that he is already 4 weeks old!!
is enjoying the warm days we have had recently. I had thought fall was already up-on us with the cool days we had been having. But I love fall so really that wasn't that bad at all.
thinks the wheat field across the road, that is golden on to harvest, is such a pretty site. In fact we have borrowed that neighbors field for pictures!!!
loves seeing all the equipment and such go by as grain harvesting is being done all around us. This quiet little gravel road has really came alive!!
is enjoying helping the kids with school once again.
can not believe that it is our 7th year of homeschooling! We have been homeschooling all the way since our oldest was in K. Has been hectic at times, but still loving it!!
has been canning and freezing vegys from the garden.
is so very grateful for all the time we have had here in Alberta.
is thinking about all my friends in Texas, and glad for them that it has cooled down there some. ( at least the last i heard it was a little cooler)
is glad that my comment thing seems to be working again. I love getting your comments, and hearing your thoughts on things i share here.
is looking up more Bible verses on prayer. I will share that as i gather verses.
has not forgot to write the post on, God's Promises to Those Who Love and Obey Him. It is just a very long post and i have a very hard time getting that mount of time to write it. I am sure i am the world's slowest typer!!

verses on prayer
I have been looking up some verses on prayer.
Here is a few i really like.
"Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms."
"Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church: and let them pray over him,, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;"
" And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall rise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."
"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed . The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
James 5: 13- 16
"Pray with out ceasing."
In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints."
Ephesians 6:18
By just those few verses it is easy to tell that prayer is very important, and is very powerful!!
Isn't that so awesome!!! The power God has gaven us through prayer!
Well until next time,

Mae

My thoughts on Prayer
Prayer as been on my mind a lot lately.
I haven't always know what to think of prayer, or I should say the power of prayer.
I have just always felt that God knows everything anyway before we even speak, and that He works everything out in our lives the way He wants, so why pray for specific things?
If He wanted that in our lives, it would just happen, with out us praying for it.
That is the way i have felt, but is that right?
So it has been something i have been thinking a lot about, and looking into scripture on it.
But don't get me wrong, i am and have been really into praying. We say a blessing at each meal, I pray with each of the children as I tuck them in bed at night, and we usually almost always pray together as a family each morning after Bible reading.
It is prayer for specific things I have wondered about. Like for instance while my husband was truck driving, I would pray for him when left on a trip. I would pray for him to be protected out on the road, and that he would stay awake and alert while night driving. I would pray for the others that were driving near him.
It would make me feel good to pray for him like that, yet I wondered if it was really necessary? Wouldn't God take of him just the same rather i prayed or not? Did it really make a difference?
Sometimes I would pray before the kids and I would go into town to go shopping ,that He would protect and keep us safe. Yet, I felt confident that nothing could happen that wasn't apart of His plan anyway. So then why bother praying?
But now i feel God convicting me on prayer. I feel that is why He has put it so heavily on mind and heart. And even recent books i have read has had things on prayer in them, and when i read it I was thinking , God knew I needed to hear this.
My very latest thoughts on prayer, is that is important, and God wants us to, no matter if He already knows our thoughts.
So as I search in the Scriptures on prayer, and as God reveals things to me, I will share it here.
In the maen time I would love to hear other's thoughts on this.
In Him,
