Over Coming Evil God's Way

Here is another book that I bought at the same time as the other one I mentioned in my last post.
I have only read a little in this one so far.
But it too seems very good.

The title is, Over Coming Evil God's Way, by Stephen Russell

On the front it says, The Biblical and Historical Case for Nonresistance.

On the back it reads,
We live in a world wracked with violence and despair. Does that mean that every act of violence must be met with an equal or greater counter blow? Over Coming Evil God's way asserts that the biblical message offers hope of repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation in place of hatred, vengeance, and fear. This books looks at both historical and biblical evidence for the nonresistant live style of the Christian. Some of the themes the book deals with:
  • Why do Christians disagree among themselves about war?
  • What is the overarching narrative of the Bible, and what does it have to say about peace?
  • What is the Christian's right and just battle?
  • What is the biblical model for the Christian life?
  • How have platonism and Islamic thought weakened the church's grasp on nonresistance?
  • What place does the gospel of peace have in winning Muslims and others who have discounted the Christian message, life, and community?

I ordered this book at www.cpl.org ph# 1-800-776-0478

The web site listed in the book which I assume is a place to order this book or others is,

www.christianlearning.org
